basically "white dudes doing MPLS sound pastiche" was one of my favorite things in the world circa 1987 (see also: "Right On Track" by The Breakfast Club)

I am very impressed by how his voice has held up even though it feels like the first song is made entirely out of treacle

You know, he's held up generally a fuck of a lot better than other 80s outfits. His stuff was surprisingly prog, for one thing!
