Fantasy football is such a weird concept. A friend told me he was into it a few months ago, pausing beforehand to say "This is gonna sound really nerdy". I'm a lifetime videogames scifi movies oldschool nerd so now i'm confronted with this thing that is 'nerdy' in its attention to detail, yet it's all about football, which was always the polar opposite of nerdy in middle/high school. But yeah 'nerdy' getting co-opted what's new?

sports nerds are and have always been some of the nerdiest people around. those kids trading baseball cards and memorizing career batting averages were not "cool" or "jocks."

I think there are more sports-inclined coworkers I'm going to deal with in the coming year, but I've gone months without really being around people having a sports conversation. Just depends where you go, I guess.

And here I was thinking that the conspiracy to come out of this would be that China criticizing American gun control is just a ploy to prepare the ground for a Chinese invasion by getting rid of those pesky gun owners. Or maybe it has. I haven't the stomach to go over to Alex Jones Land.
