beer, Used Cars, mediocre pop punk band, Tonto's Demise (some mixed drink), good garage band a little too focused on the word "rock," danced with some girls to Billy Idol and Quiet Riot (haha the pre-programmed bar "rock" station was as good if not better than usual hipster DJ who is sometimes me), pizza, ecstatically buying the new SPIN at 3am cuz I just found out the YYYs were on the cover, went home and fell asleep to Fever To Tell

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Sunday, 30 May 2004 22:34 (nineteen years ago) link

strongest non-Karen O related thought about SPIN: "I hope Jess smiled when he saw he got the words Audio Two into this fucker"

Majorly mondo tired from being at thanksgiving service for my friends' late grandmother all day, went to my dad's to watch satellite TV and continue to die from my flu. Watched The Mummy Returns with my little cousins, went home, took more medication, watched the first Mummy on terrestrial TV (whoa, spookular), watched parts of Night of The Living Dead on a very bad signal, mentally reassessed my summer plans, thought about the interview I have on Tuesday, fell asleep uncomfortably, wishing I could drink (accursed antibiotics).

Crickets Dance On Tequila Booty (Barima), Sunday, 30 May 2004 23:10 (nineteen years ago) link

Read ILM, listened to music, talked to a friend of mine on AIM about what we should call our band, slept. Pretty boring.

Serya (Z_Ayres), Monday, 31 May 2004 00:06 (nineteen years ago) link

My mom had knee replacement surgery, so i picked her up from the hospital and brought her home (to her house). I stayed over, and did stare longingly at her bottles of Oxycontin and other good pain killers, but decided that stealing drugs from my mother was pushing it. Drank Nyquil instead. Slept. My mom is doing well...

aimurchie, Monday, 31 May 2004 00:28 (nineteen years ago) link

Oh, I steal drugs from my mom all the time.

Broheems (diamond), Monday, 31 May 2004 01:40 (nineteen years ago) link

if my mom had drugs, i would be stealing them RIGHT NOW.

My Boring Sunday Night: Napping until 9:30, drinking beer, listening to music, probably end up playing street fighter II.

Went to a bar at 1100 with a couple of my friends and drank 4 pints of newcastle.

a law school barbecue that would normally be kinda boring was saved by a great nontrad student and her girlfriend, it was nice to sit outdoors and talk about crap. Also watched the pacers lose. :(

my nights have been alright, though I'm getting increasingly bored by my thesis work. 3500 of 10000 words yet to go.

You should have come to Florent, Byron; it was delicious. I realized later that we should have gone to Empire Diner though, as it was closer.

one year passes...
i'm bored. what's on tv? and how long before this staropramen makes me drunk?

some stockholm cindy talking (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 14 August 2005 00:14 (eighteen years ago) link

What the hell is staropramen?

I'm staying in, watching the zombie movie Junk with my very cranky girlfriend and drinking Bell's beer.

Jordan (Jordan), Sunday, 14 August 2005 00:26 (eighteen years ago) link

staying at home, cleaning, occasionally recording.

Simon H. (Simon H.), Sunday, 14 August 2005 00:26 (eighteen years ago) link

Ohhhh to be drunk. Am icing the side of my face which is swollen from toothache and drinking glass upon glass of iced tea. Jody, are you drinking alone? If you drink at your house and I at mine, does that count as having company?

Laurel, Sunday, 14 August 2005 00:28 (eighteen years ago) link

What the hell is staropramen?

it's from prague.

Jody, are you drinking alone? If you drink at your house and I at mine, does that count as having company?

that works, i think. if you hate the mekons record i'm playing i can change it.

some stockholm cindy talking (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 14 August 2005 00:31 (eighteen years ago) link

Nah, don't bother. I'll throw mine on shuffle and we'll see what cacophony results.

Laurel, Sunday, 14 August 2005 00:40 (eighteen years ago) link

This will be a very low-key evening thanks to THE HORRIBLE ILLNESS that has sucked away three days of my life so far, bleah. Thankfully the fever went away, but you really don't want my headache and stomach pains, yech. So no BBQ with friends for me, it's all about chilling and probably starting to write a draft for Marooned, aka ILX: The Book.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 14 August 2005 00:52 (eighteen years ago) link

I cooked a big, big dinner and now I'm recovering with several beers before I go check out the gingered peaches in the fridge.

Truckdrivin' Buddha (Rock Hardy), Sunday, 14 August 2005 00:55 (eighteen years ago) link

Ooh--how do you ginger a peach? Is liquor involved?

Stephen X (Stephen X), Sunday, 14 August 2005 01:23 (eighteen years ago) link

rohypnol too.

some stockholm cindy talking (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 14 August 2005 01:31 (eighteen years ago) link

I delivered pizza for a while. I stopped at the gas station on my way home to my apartment. I got home, washed my hair, and put clothes on to go out. Now I'm websurfing and listening to illegally obtained music. And listening to my idiot neighbor's soundsystem as it periodically inundates my ceiling with the bass range of the soundtrack from whatever movie it is that he's watching. Is it worth my time to go up there and tell him to turn it down? Or should I just go to the bars early instead of waiting for a phonecall from the people I'm going to be meeting there? Decisions, decisions.

And also I'm being totally surprised that I responded to this thread the first time around. Jesus fuck, how long have I been lurking on ILX?

Chris F. (servoret), Sunday, 14 August 2005 01:38 (eighteen years ago) link

I peeled and cut up some peaches, sprinkled just a tiny amount of sugar over them to get the juice going, then grated a small knob of ginger into them. Stir, let sit an hour or two, hey presto tasty. Oh yeah, I threw in some blueberries too.

I should throw all of that in the blender with some vodka, now that I think about it.

Truckdrivin' Buddha (Rock Hardy), Sunday, 14 August 2005 01:41 (eighteen years ago) link

i went to borders, sat down in the magazine sectin with a book and read 70 pages of it.

I'm watching Gunga Din, as part of some sort of Cary Grant film festival. Outrageous racism, of course, but great God, a shirtless young Grant is something to behold.

I saw two of my best friends get married. Their big Italian families were all at the wedding, it was GREAT. Oh man, I ate so much good food, took 2 rolls of pictures. It was a great night.

Also, it was the first time I saw most of my friends in suits/tuxes. I was impressed by how spiffy all the guys looked when they're usually in flip flops and 3 day old stubble!

This thread should have been one of my 51 other Saturday nights, those are boring. This was probably my most un-boring Saturday night of the year... I'll make for it next Saturday. I'll be in suburban NJ, trying to scrounge up a friend to go to Chester diner or something & bored off my ass.

my boring saturday night got exciting when i found out that little rock shows its lifestyle programs at 2am sunday morning. by 3:30am id learnt how to install toungue and groove wood flooring and how sometimes its ok to go with wood panelling on the side of your tub rather than marble.
