I am inserting a note here, since I cannot post on the locked paragraph above. Anti-folk seems to exist mostly on wikipedia and seems to grow backwards in time slowly absorbing many veteran stars and labelling them as anti-folk. THis all sounds very interesting. But it is unclear if this is largely the method by which someone's agenda is being advanced through coopting the identity of others work. I spoke with a famous British act lately, who was described here as a mainstay of the "anti-folk" in the UK. He said he was only vaguely aware of the term. The same is true of Tegan and Sara, who having no issue with the the groups involved don't seem to identify themselves as "anti-folk" as tightly as the editor of the Anti folk wiki page and related pages has in the past.
In short, is this simply one person's way of advancing their own agenda, through cunning use of wikipedia?
