taking sides: outkast or goodie mob?

Black Ice (contains OutKast guests) is my favorite GM song.

occassionally listed as "Sky High"

Now this isn't a dis at all on the Goodie Mob, but just something funny.

I keep thinking about what Steve Harvey said in Original Kings of Comedy about everybody on the stage having a mic ("40 MOTHERFUCKING PEOPLE!") and how nobody can understand what anybody is saying ("SIGAMUMAWAMAMAKIA! SIGAMUAMA YEA YEA YEA BOY!").

i saw Goodie Mob on Apollo once (hosted by ....Steve Harvey!) and they all had mics and it was just one of the funniest things I ever saw cuz none of it was intelligible. I think whoever was doing the sound was high that night.

well im shocked

Big Gipp's solo album is fun. The "Steppin' Out" single with the "Billie Jean" guitar and "got myself some cologne that I'm 'a skeet skeet skeet skeet skeet skeet on" is great, too. The video (not on youtube, unfort.) has the greatest outlandish DF outfit ever, a blue jumpsuit with giant yellow fuzzy things all over it. Has anyone heard his album with Ali?

this is on point, i got that 'steppin out' 12" for like 99 cents at some store awhile back and it stays on repeat.

i remember the video too from when it first dropped, can't believe its not on youtube!

One Monkey Don't Stop No Show is a lot better than you might think. The beats are really nice - dark, menacing. Actually, the Lumberjacks album is good too.

Black Ice is a terrific tune, particularly Andre's verse.

I looooooooove me some classic Outkast. Aquemini to me was their crowning achievement, but I also love Southernplayalistic, ATLiens, and yes even Stankonia.

otoh ATLiens is like Rush's "Working Man". They can do whatever horseshit they want from here on out and they still get lifetime classic pass.

i mean obv it's long as fuck and you could probably chop half off but besides the classic singles i count 5-6 pretty solid album tracks

I dunno dude, in some corners it's not a well liked albums, in others it's loved. Thought I'd cover my bases.

I really like it a lot for the record, though I've never really been into "So fresh so clean"

Boy, every time I get to a thread it's so long I could never possibly read it all and still get to work on time.

Anyhoo, I'll vote Goodie Mob based on the fact that I've just never liked Outkast. Argue what you want, I just never felt it. My loss, probably.

woke up this morning from a dream where i was doing some very important mystical rite involving climbing a tree and Goodie Mob were there and "Black Ice" was playing. Of course "Black Ice" had different lyrics and maybe a different beat in my dream but it was "Black Ice."
