I'm trying to remember this one Genesis game, it was a one-on-one fighting game involving all these different aliens. One of them was fat & red and possibly had hundreds of tiny hands, I think?

Note: not Eternal Champions

No, it was definitely a 1-on-1 tournament fighting game.

I found a little list and picked out the Mortal Kombats, Samurai Showdowns, Street Fighters, etc, and here's a list of other, previously unmentioned fighters...

King of the Monsters (1 or 2)?
Clayfighter (any)?
World Heroes?
Pit Fighter?
Mystical Fighter?
Time Killers?
Deadly Moves?
Brutal: Paws of Fury?
Ballz?
Slaughter Sport?
Ka-Ge-Ki Fists of Steel?
X-Perts?
TMNT Tournament Fighters?
Rise of the Robots?
Ultraman?
Shura No Mon?

Jordan you are giving up too easily. You have the internet, right? I mean, I know you do.

Will M., Tuesday, 15 May 2007 20:40 (sixteen years ago) link

No, I was obsessing! I looked through the wiki list of fighting games and a few other sites, nothing.

Toe Jam & Earl was great. I shudder at how they'd update it.

kingfish, Wednesday, 6 August 2008 04:56 (fifteen years ago) link

havent they made several terrible sequels?

phil-two, Thursday, 7 August 2008 04:48 (fifteen years ago) link

hmm. Well, maybe not _several_...

Sequels and other appearances

Two sequels have been released:

* ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron (Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, 1993)
* ToeJam & Earl III: Mission to Earth (Microsoft Xbox, 2002)

ToeJam and Earl also appeared in Ready-Aim-Tomatoes!, a game packaged with the Menacer light gun for the Mega Drive/Genesis, which involved ToeJam fighting off Earthlings by throwing tomatoes. They have also appeared in Art Alive! and Wacky Worlds, both paint programs for the same console.
