http://www.ibtimes.com/conspiracy-theorist-calls-christopher-dorner-manhunt-hoax-video-la-shooting-saga-continues-1070928

"This is a hoax, this officer Christopher Jordan Dorner, it's a hoax drill and it's set up for the very simple reason to get the police agitated with the citizens, the citizens to accept more police involvement in their lives on the streets and give you a reason why they're going to want to stop you and set up roadblocks and do all kinds of other things," the video's narrator states. "And you will accept it, why? because they're telling you that this guy's out there shooting a bunch people."

But the unsubstantiated theories don't end there, as dave j goes on to theorize that one reason why the populace is willing to accept Dorner as a suspected killer is because he "looks a little bit like this guy, who they've been putting in our face all for the last three, four, five days." The "guy" he's referencing is none other than Baltimore Ravens star and Super Bowl XLVII champion Ray Lewis, who looks very little like Dorner, but similar enough that it allows dave j to go further down the strange road his theory traces, by stating that this familiarity with Lewis allows us to accept Dorner's face as that of an alleged cop-killer on the lam.

I know it's terrible but I still can't stop laughing thinking about his manifesto. Dave Brubeck's "Take Five" is the greatest piece of music ever, period.

When I saw that shot-up SUV my first thought was, "The drones come home."

It's kind of sad I won't be around to view and enjoy The Hangover III. What an awesome trilogy. Todd Phillips, don't make anymore Hangovers after the third, takes away the originality of its foundation. World War Z looks good and The Walking Dead season 3 (second half) looked intriguing. Damn, gonna miss shark week.

stuff like "It's kind of sad I won't be around to view and enjoy The Hangover III." almost makes me sympathize with crazy this-is-a-hoax conspiracy guy upthread. that can't be real. nobody actually liked Hangover 2.

Crystal Lancaster, a neighbor in the Los Angeles suburb of La Palma, where Dorner went to high school and his mother still lives, described him to CNN as "a nice, friendly guy, easy to approach."

Cyclist, I have no problem sharing the road with you. But, at least go the (expletive) speed limit posted or get off the road!!! That is a feasible request.

Preach.

On Thursday, law enforcement officials were inspecting a package CNN's Anderson Cooper received from Dorner. CNN spokeswoman Shimrit Sheetrit said that a parcel containing a note, a DVD and a bullet hole-riddled memento was addressed to Cooper's office.

The memento was a coin bearing the name of former Los Angeles Police Chief Bill Bratton, who appeared with Dorner in a picture taken years ago. On "CBS This Morning" Friday, Bratton described Dorner as "an incredibly dangerous individual" and reacted to the damaged coin.

"When you see that that coin that was given in friendship and respect has three bullet holes, it's certainly very chilling," Bratton said.

i didn't know that you could shoot a coin three times and not obliterate it

Yeah, there's a reason it's called a "speed limit" and not a "speed floor." Most drivers need to slow the hell down anyway.

i hope this can somehow be turned into an episode of 'curb your enthusiasm'

This Dorner guy is obv no Jared Loughner. Not nearly enough crazy in his eyes. One suspects he is sane enough by most standards, but has given up on the idea of staying alive and he wants to get some veangance in before he swan dives off the cliff. He's ex-military, so 'bringing the war home' is a fairly natural thought.

Aimless, Saturday, 9 February 2013 22:08 (eleven years ago) link

Is it really? In any case, sure are a lot of suicides among Afghanistan veterans. This thing about the murdered ex-sniper trying to help his traumatized bros with gun therapy reminds me of Lanza's mom---the faith people put in "gun culture"....

dow, Saturday, 9 February 2013 23:22 (eleven years ago) link

It's a fairly natural thought when you have identified a bunch of enemies who surround you.

Aimless, Sunday, 10 February 2013 00:38 (eleven years ago) link

The shooting began around 4:45 a.m. in the community of Ladera Ranch, where a woman was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds, said Jim Amormino, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspect, described only as a man in his 20s, fled the scene in a sport-utility vehicle into Tustin, just north of the Ladera Ranch area, where he shot two more people in the process of stealing a Dodge truck. Those victims were receiving treatment at a local hospital.

The suspect then drove onto the 55 Freeway, where he either stopped on the highway to shoot at passing cars, or shot from a moving vehicle. He hit at least three vehicles, the police said, causing minor injuries to at least one person.

After exiting the freeway in nearby Santa Ana because he was low on gas, he got out of the truck and approached the driver of a B.M.W. that was stopped at a stop sign, carrying what witnesses said appeared to be a shotgun, according to Santa Ana police. The suspect ordered the driver out of the B.M.W., walked him over to the curb with his hands behind his head and executed him, the police said.

He then drove the B.M.W. back to Tustin, where he carjacked another vehicle at around 5:25 a.m., killing another victim in the process, Tustin police officials said. From there, he fled into the City of Orange, where police identified his vehicle. As law enforcement closed in, the suspect stopped, stepped out of the car and shot himself.
