This Time
For loud guitar space-out pop, I never though anything could outdo "Seagull" from Ride's Nowhere as an opener, but This Time manages to outdo it.

Spin 1/2 without a doubt. I still play "Lido" fairly regularly.

the two covers they did for peel, SOS and Without You were both great. that said, i voted Not A God as it was the first thing that sprang to mind reading the list.
weren't there vinyl-only tracks on the lps, locked grooves iirc... i always think that the cd versions of such lps should be filled to capacity with the repeated bit at the end.

It's Heart Fog. Even though I mistakenly have it labeled in iTunes as Heart Frog which is of course a cooler name.

everything all at once forever. fond memories of astral planing into the runout groove propelled by that rubbery bassline and the fuzz guitar struggling to spit out those weird jazz chords that just surge forth once they break free. that descant nursery rhyme. ug. dizzy thinking about it. reminds me of a pharoah sanders jam. what i wanted loop to sound like. they never did.

there's a flaming lips cd that does this (hit to death in the future head iirc)
dmr, do you recall when the Blue Note booked these guys, but when they showed up, it was quickly discovered that the band was "The Faith Healers" from Fayetteville, Ark.?
― pplains, Thursday, 14 February 2013 18:38 (eleven years ago) link
haha no I don't remember that. I did see the correct Faith Healers at the Blue Note once though, opening for the Breeders and Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.

much love for "everything all at once forever" as joint winner
(also for the concept of "heart frog". heart frog seems so cold to me)

could a band cover mother sky in the manner of th' faith healers only choose a different assortment of mother sky parts? i think so. considering how many other parts they left on the cutting room floor.

Hey there Faith Healers song thread.
Who else could I share the pleasure of imagining them doing Eurythmics' Caveman Head with; although it might almost be redundant as a cover! That's a total Healers groove.
