anyhoo so about that politiwife.com...
So for those of you who may be wondering exactly who Politiwife is, then let me introduce myself. My name is Kathy, and I am a Conservative Christian. I have spend most of my life as a singer, voice teacher, and overall performer, which I continue to this day. I was born and raised in western Michigan but I have lived in beautiful Columbia SC since 1992.
In 2006 I married my sweetheart, Al. who is a well-known political journalist and owner of the site Politisite.com. He is a brilliant journalist and a political junkie and dragged me into the world kicking and screaming in 2008 as his photographer for the 2008 presidential election season.
But as as passionate as he is about politics, I have a passion just as strong! For the last 20 years, I have been passionate about natural health and healing. When I was in college, a diet of fast food and stress led me to an unhealthy weight of over 250 pounds. I was suffering from extreme anxiety and was miserable. After college, I started learning everything that I could about healing myself naturally. Slowly, by changing my diet, exercising and using herbs and supplements, I have began to transform my body.
Many people are unaware that my husband has suffered with many chronic illnesses that at times sidelined him and left him in bed. It was not only difficult for him, but difficult for me to see him struggle. Unfortunately, traditional medicine was not helping him.
I talked with him regularly about changing his diet and incorporating exercise and supplementation, but he was not open to making the necessary changes. He finally had his “aha” moment after his frustration with western medicine led him to visit a holistic physician who began him on his journey to health. As he changed his diet to whole, healthy, organic foods and away from processed junk foods, he began to feel better….very quickly.
There is a myth perpetuating in our society that liberals are the ones who eat healthy, clean foods. That they are the ones who frequent local farmer’s markets and buy from co-ops. That is simply not true. I have discovered a secret. There are many conservatives who are passionate about the food that they eat. They are also aware of the healing properties of a truly healthy, sustainable diet.

I will never understand what causes people's thinking to get to this point, this bizarre tribalism.

obviously liberals are acting like they just discovered farmers markets when conservatives have been supporting them the whole time, much as conservatives support all free markets

The next time I hear that "illness is just the absence of health" pablum, I think I'm just going to punch the person in the face and say "a broken nose is just the absence of nasal soundness."

It'd be awesome if Cena was promo-ing and caught the sign out of the corner of his eye and was like, 'Wait. Um, I know this is unexpected but this is too important not to talk about. He's right. We have to talk about fiat currency, you guys. It's time we took a stand."

even better if he looked out in the crowd, saw dude, and leapt out of the ring and body slammed him, then Ben bernanke saunters on to the scene...

The rubes who howl for restoring the gold standard these days would have been among the worst hurt by the gold standard back in the day and probably would have been as rabid for Wm. Jennings Bryan then as they are for Ron Paul now. <-- heavy irony
