I saw that this morning. Part bummed and part happy the limbo will end and they can put in affordable housing.

Grants helped to cover the loss of income from the Market, but a lot of the money was wasted. After one of the larger grants was received, the staff were given cell phones (no pun intended) for conducting CELLspace business. Within one year, they would have no business to conduct.
“Essentially, large amounts of money were mismanaged
this is just so sadly familiar. ... I didn't realize that Cellspace was only founded the year I moved back to the Bay Area. I had thought it had been around longer.

I passed a weird crime scene on my way to work – someone drove a range rover through the façade of the Sprint Mobile shop that’s in the Metreon parking lot bldg., it was like they just made a right turn off of Mission St, jumped the curb, and went straight through the glass. cops were all over the place

I like that I live somewhere where I can put an old couch on the street and within an hour some random bros will come by, tie to it to the top of their car, and take it away to a new home.

So back near the beginning of May, I was in the Bay Area for work, and my last day I was taking BART to SFO to fly home. During my trip, my train got held up for a while. The train operator made an announcement and I tweeted about it: "Yay BART train stuck at Civic Center on way to airport due to "an unstable person" on the tracks. Thanks for a fun last day, SF!"
THE VIDEO ABOVE IS THE REASON MY TRAIN WAS HELD UP, and I only discovered it when Gawker posted the video last week. Literally all I knew was that someone was causing trouble at the next station down the line, but that was it. Now I know. The circle is complete.
