luckily the digg owners are known for their impeccable taste, so that's not something instapaper users will have to worry about

I was going to say, thinking this has anything to do with particular words or phrases is pretty far off

i like the flattening on the podcast app, but i wonder why they need so many people to flatten things.

Philip Nunez, Wednesday, 1 May 2013 19:06 (eleven years ago) link

totally to the first part of your post

markers, Wednesday, 1 May 2013 19:07 (eleven years ago) link

Too many awful analyst quotes in that one IMO.

schwantz, Wednesday, 1 May 2013 21:20 (eleven years ago) link

i'm just picturing ive in a straw hat in a vineyard gesturing at engineers to take off their shoes and flatten apps with their bare feet. richard attenborough turns to the camera and says, "I spared no expense."

great wallogina (Autumn Almanac), Saturday, 11 May 2013 03:26 (eleven years ago) link

guh I had a whole weird thing happen where it wouldn't let me eject my ipod because 'it was in use by another program'... unchecked manual disk use, disabled antivirus, still no go, had to force eject through explorer.

idk man, itunes has been acting funky for a little while now...I dunno if it's upgrades in antivirus software or changes in the itunes behaviour? had some weird interference from the antivirus a while back where i opened up my itunes and it showed like, 30% of my files and they were all saved to the cloud. Mr Veg managed to fix it and then a few weeks later it happened again.

so weird. makes me uneasy.

(sort of pointless replying 3 months later, but…) back @dan some time back, re 27" iMac - sure we calibrated it, broke out our new i1 gear. basically iMac when calibrated is still poor compared to pro units (yes we had an eizo in to compare) and the glossy shine still distracts picking up stuff from around you (behind you!) and it's all totally subverted by brightness controls anyway

btw iwatch?? WTF

educate yourself to this reality (sunny successor), Wednesday, 22 May 2013 21:23 (ten years ago) link

I don't know how people are still giving the iWatch any credence. Why the fuck would they make an iWatch? It's just ludicrous. The Pebble kickstarter got 70,000 backers, but that's probably 70% of the entire market for "smart watches".

0808ɹƃ (silby), Wednesday, 22 May 2013 22:42 (ten years ago) link

it may be stupid, but they're doin' it

markers, Wednesday, 22 May 2013 22:46 (ten years ago) link

not that i'd necessarily call it stupid myself

markers, Wednesday, 22 May 2013 22:46 (ten years ago) link

i thought the ipad was stupid once so

I wonder if the Kindle will ever see any sort of mass adoption. Maybe many years from now, some digital reading device will become popular, but I doubt it will be the Kindle.

I think devices like the iPhone will become *much* more popular over the next few years.

This new Apple tablet is probably not going to go mainstream tho: http://gizmodo.com/5323446/financial-times-confirms-apple-tablet-features-september-launch

Totally stoked for an iWatch really.

I don't know how people are still giving the iWatch any credence. Why the fuck would they make an iWatch?

Apple Inc. has a team of about 100 product designers working on a wristwatch-like device that may perform some of the tasks now handled by the iPhone and iPad, two people familiar with the company’s plans said.

The team, which has grown in the past year, includes managers, members of the marketing group, and software and hardware engineers who previously worked on the iPhone and iPad, said the people, who asked not to be named because the plans are private. The team’s size suggests Apple is beyond the experimentation phase in its development, said the people.

oh thx for that one actually, makes it seem plausible.

Still though, if they make this, they're not gonna call it an "iWatch", it's gonna be a small, wearable iPod.
