the ref's demonstrativeness was funny but it was an awful call, durant basically threw the ball into parsons' body

lee by a long shot, harden i think is still adjusting to being the #1 guy, massive uptick in minutes, central role in the offense, etc- he's asked to do more or less everything on that end- and will pick his defense back up next year and beyond. he's a decent on-ball defender when he needs to be and this was still only his fourth year! lee on the other hand is just an irredeemably bad defender

nate's insane couple of games reinforces simmons' one and only actual rotation insight: nate could have gotten ten more minutes for the celtics against the lakers in 2010 and possibly turned that game around

oh i don't know, harden is really bad. part of it is effort though, if he keeps being called out for it he might get better

My theory on Harden is that he's just been totally gassed the last few months. Hasn't been himself at all. Not that that has much to do with the poor defense since that was going on all season.

harden is bad at defense but he has the body to be better, there is a lot of truth in the idea that he has to conserve himself for offense tho

he might just need a good rim protector or screen-switcher behind him or something for when he does get beat. but generally i think he ought to be what, a league-average backcourt defender given his overall talent, and think he'll adjust
