yeah morey was deserving too

'scuse me while i make the sky cum (k3vin k.), Thursday, 9 May 2013 18:41 (eleven years ago) link

masai turned arron afflalo, al harrington and a first round pick next year into andre iguodala

morey turned jeremy lamb, kevin martin, two first round picks and a second round pick into james harden

not a bad job by masai to butt into the dwight howard trade and end up with probably the best current player in the trade for a first round pick, but i'd probably go with the guy who fleeced okc out of a 23 year old superstar

both their teams lost in the first round but for one that was a flameout and for the other that was overachieving by a year or more

Kinda sad about no games tonight, the end is near :/

According to our good friends at Elias Sports Bureau, it's the first time in NBA history that all four conference semifinals are tied 1-1.

reggie sucks so hard now but man this game

call all destroyer, Friday, 10 May 2013 03:31 (eleven years ago) link

reggie was a great troll and a very entertaining player

Suddenly feeling inadequate for only rewatching Game 5 4th Q. + Winning Time.

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Friday, 10 May 2013 13:24 (eleven years ago) link

making up for no games last night i encourage you to watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlEW4ubeyMU

乒乓, Friday, 10 May 2013 14:10 (eleven years ago) link

Ha always wondered if/why players didn't troll KG w/ high-arching after-whistle shots. Happy to hear that move didn't escape Vince.

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Friday, 10 May 2013 14:42 (eleven years ago) link

Bummed that there aren't more YouTube highlights for Joakim's dad, Yannick. Probably one of the few tennis players I ever saw live who really interacted with the crowd / went out of his way to entertain during serious matchplay. Toward the end of his career, when he'd be stuck playing doubles on the small courts, dude would do some serious goofing around.

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Friday, 10 May 2013 15:19 (eleven years ago) link

Good read. The offense is totally different post Lee injury.

deeznuggz (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Friday, 10 May 2013 16:48 (eleven years ago) link

i initially wanted to say steph is AI with a 45% 3, but steph doesnt finish around the rim like AI does

乒乓, Friday, 10 May 2013 16:49 (eleven years ago) link

probably only comparable in how both of them used their handles

乒乓, Friday, 10 May 2013 16:50 (eleven years ago) link

Maybe a little but AI was one of the quickest guards ever

deeznuggz (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Friday, 10 May 2013 16:53 (eleven years ago) link

Did AI use screen and rolls much or just all iso's?

deeznuggz (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Friday, 10 May 2013 16:54 (eleven years ago) link

Steph is like nobody but himself. His off the dribble shooting is stupidly good and almost unique.

EZ Snappin, Friday, 10 May 2013 16:54 (eleven years ago) link

AI had a stepback pullup that he would rely on but yeah it's nothing like the dribble pullup steph has

乒乓, Friday, 10 May 2013 16:55 (eleven years ago) link

iirc AI used the screens a lot

乒乓, Friday, 10 May 2013 16:56 (eleven years ago) link

Yeah his skill-set it pretty unique xxp.

deeznuggz (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Friday, 10 May 2013 16:58 (eleven years ago) link

i wish we could watch games with the camera at halfcourt directly facing the basket - always kind of hard to see how much separation players get on screens since the TV view flattens everything

乒乓, Friday, 10 May 2013 16:59 (eleven years ago) link

Ive been trying pull up off the dribble three's at open gym and it's really tough to get the form right every time. Seriously it's crazy how accurate he is on shots that arent classically accurate. That pick the ball from off the ground right into the shot the other day was O__0

deeznuggz (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Friday, 10 May 2013 17:00 (eleven years ago) link

yeah love that angle on things when they show it. I think they dont use it cos it clips the corner three area.

deeznuggz (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Friday, 10 May 2013 17:01 (eleven years ago) link

curry is like a bionic version of nash, basically

J0rdan S., Friday, 10 May 2013 17:04 (eleven years ago) link

hmmm maybe w/r/t %'s, but his handle + on court presence is way different

乒乓, Friday, 10 May 2013 17:05 (eleven years ago) link

well steph is a better scorer and looks for his shot more while nash is a better passer who purposefully passed up shots but their skills are very similar

J0rdan S., Friday, 10 May 2013 17:17 (eleven years ago) link

Yeah Nash really probably is the closest comparison.

deeznuggz (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Friday, 10 May 2013 17:21 (eleven years ago) link

They even have the same weird scoop floater thing going on.

deeznuggz (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Friday, 10 May 2013 17:21 (eleven years ago) link

Both have the best fast break pull-up three's in the league, maybe Billups in his prime too.

deeznuggz (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Friday, 10 May 2013 17:22 (eleven years ago) link

yeah the one-legged stuff, lefty passes, running scoops, and general shooting deadliness is very nash

'scuse me while i make the sky cum (k3vin k.), Friday, 10 May 2013 19:33 (eleven years ago) link

Only thing missing is the off-leg teardrop/layups.

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Friday, 10 May 2013 19:39 (eleven years ago) link

Also still kinda w/ Matt A. in the Stephen Curry Is Already an All Time Great 3pt Shooter camp. Still can't believe that he's already hit almost as many 3s as Steve Kerr and is one season away from Hornacek and Price.

Also shocked how few Drazen was able to attempt ;_;

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Friday, 10 May 2013 19:53 (eleven years ago) link

^ also kinda crazy to note that the Omen hit more three's than Curry did in his rookie season.

deeznuggz (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Friday, 10 May 2013 20:02 (eleven years ago) link

Hope Lillard turns into something more than Mighty Mouse 2.0 :/

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Friday, 10 May 2013 20:24 (eleven years ago) link

uh guys the lady who flipped off noah has an absolutely bonkers backstory

http://nba.si.com/2013/05/09/filomena-tobias-joakim-noah-flip-bird-heckler-miami-heat-chicago-bulls/

though it's mostly just lol florida i guess and lots of it is secondhand, but just the legal facts of her life are kinda nuts

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Friday, 10 May 2013 20:25 (eleven years ago) link

Heh, the NYT/NYMag pieces on her / that whole situation are fun reads.

Always surprising how few bad player/fan altercations there are, esp. around the tunnels.

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Friday, 10 May 2013 20:34 (eleven years ago) link

Agree, I find it weird that they can touch players! Like that headband LBJ grab, it would be so easy to injure/stab a player or w/e. Makes for good pictures and awkward scenes though.

hah what makes you think of him as just being another stoudamire

乒乓, Friday, 10 May 2013 21:42 (eleven years ago) link

The stats are very similar, they both put up big numbers on poor teams, and neither could guard Yi's proverbial chair.

EZ Snappin, Friday, 10 May 2013 21:51 (eleven years ago) link

Yeah, that stuff mainly.

Although after looking at rosters, I kind of underestimated just how bad Stoudamire's rookie team was, and I'd guess his career arc had more to do w/ bad teams rather than regression (after initial three seasons, his per36 numbers hover around the same point). Just looking at this roster's top five scorers ruined my day:

Player PTS ▾
Damon Stoudamire 19.0
Sharone Wright 16.5
Tracy Murray 16.2
Oliver Miller 12.9
Willie Anderson 12.4

I don't even remember who the fuck Sharone Wright is/was 8(
