Yeah being a dubs fan and basically never being in the playoffs really made me find a mistress or two every season. Always have had a thing for the Nuggz and the Suns or just whatever underdog.

It is honestly really weird having a team to root for in the playoffs. Jacks with my whole psyche.

Prince had game in Detroit hay days but it was mostly defense and scrap points. He was ok at mid range but you cant rely on a shot with a flaring elbow like that.

it's crazy how durant at the 4 and collison at the 5 seems to have worked for OKC, who could have predicted

In the 29 minutes Marc Gasol & Tony Allen shared the floor in game 5 the Grizzlies had a Defensive Efficiency of 65.6. That's craziness.

memphis and indiana once again reminding us that top defense + average offense gets you as far as you want in the playoffs

as long as your opponents aren't that good

though this series was sort of close for a 4-1 win, not sure if that tells us that memphis is not crazy good; or that they will only win squeakers b/c of their offense-defense mix; or that okc was not completely horrible without their second and third best players and even an exhausted, solo durant is incredible

can definitely see Mumphis making it to the finals this year though

xp to k3v right, though it definitely gets you further on average than top offense and mediocre defense usually save some exceptions like this year's gsw and mid 2000s suns (who id argue were really somewhat below mediocre defense but nuclear-level offense)

Crazy that both Rip and Tayshawn were still playing important playoff minutes in 2013.

you can make it to a certain point with average offense/sick defense but even when the celtics won the title they were top 10 in offensive efficiency

I think Pacers were in the top half of either PPG or PPP in the second half; really a totally different team offensively once they settled in. Not sure what the numbers say, but they looked historically bad during the first 20-30 games.

Wouldn't be surprised if Memphis, esp. post-Gay, have steadily improved offensively.

okc wouldve won w westbrook imho, but i do think memphis has a better shot against miami via matchups, also their offense is prob a lil better than they played this season as rudy gay was fn shit up when he was there and then they had to adjust to him being gone, tho obvs youre only gonna be so good starting prince and allen
