"scene" was definitely already a thing when I was in high school 10 years ago

I don't think I understand what "scene" is
― i don't even have an internet (Hurting 2), Monday, 3 June 2013 16:00 (ten years ago) link
and I mean that sincerely and not in an art-of-pretend-ignorance kind of way
I was seven years out of high school and didn't have internet access 10 years ago. "Scene" was totally off my radar.

Scene kids show their love for music by going to many concerts, or as they call them, “shows.”

so scene is basically emo with the mood inverted?
― i don't even have an internet (Hurting 2), Monday, 3 June 2013 16:09 (ten years ago) link

Haha, I recall "scene kids" being cursed up and down on the Relapse Records forum ten years ago.Being a smalltown Norwegian I knew nothing directly of this world, but my mental image was of a moshpit full of whitebelted teenagers practicing tae bo.
― Øystein, Monday, 3 June 2013 17:44 (ten years ago) link
See, I have heard the phrase "scene kids" before, but just presumed it was a more generic term kids who were regulars on any available scene. People who go to the same clubs a lot.
― how's life, Monday, 3 June 2013 18:04 (ten years ago) link
ppl still call themselves scene kids? it's such a... makeoutclub kind of term.

I don't think you can become Native American through pure courage alone.

The truer version is:
"People may wish deep down that they had the 'courage' to be different like you, but the reality is that they're happier and better adjusted than you and wouldn't actually enjoy it."

That rose thing above reminds me of one of my many shameful internet enthusiasms. On a different forum I had a period where I kept adding images from http://www.glitter-graphics.com/ at the end of my posts. Every time I browsed the site for something to add, I'd laugh out loud and have just a wonderful time for myself. I don't think anyone else found it remotely amusing. Such is my experience with internet chatz in general ;_;http://www.glitter-graphics.com/images/empty.gif<3
