Most of his 70s lps had gatefolds (sometimes doubles w/a page)

Here's the second part of Duit On Mon Dei (the first part has lyrics and an alternate cover)

VDGG "Pawn Hearts". Unfortunately that doesn't appear to be the vinyl gatefold, or not the whole thing anyway (xp)

two years pass...

As partial as I am to older cover art, Paul's Boutique is an amazing gatefold:

http://www.google.ca/imgres?q=paul%27s+boutique+gatefold&um=1&hl=en&safe=off&tbm=isch&tbnid=hn-rOoyCYr7CeM:&imgrefurl=http://www.comicsbeat.com/2011/04/25/separated-at-birth-wolff-byrd-and-the-beastie-boys/&docid=ezdbvsC6M57SrM&w=660&h=333&ei=kQ8uTsGRBcXOgAfl39R4&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=410&page=2&tbnh=103&tbnw=205&start=18&ndsp=19&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:18&tx=142&ty=52&biw=1366&bih=643

(Hope that shows up; the URL's three lines long.) That's not actually it, but the real gatefold is twice as long and looks similar. As vinyl was going under around '91 or so, I saw a whole stack of them on the floor of a local store for $2 or $3 each. I already had the album, so stupidly didn't buy a few more.

Yeah, it's true that these are not overly posted on the internet yet.

This is the outside of that ABBA one. The usual version has the park bench image on the outside and a vertical shot of them on the inside. The Swedish edition looks like this:

in a way, the most evil is the gatefold with little more than an entire panel devoted to just two words:

my fave, including as it does in the bottom left corner the quote
"I get buzzed off the fact that Andy Warhol's heard of us because he gets buzzed off the fact that Picasso had heard of him."

by the way Discogs is a good place for inside-the-gatefold sleeve art, even when google images isn't coming up with the goods.
