I usually hate Olbermann's voices, but his Limbaugh is pretty funny. He's been practicing.

Rush Limbaugh completely OTM in that clip above, especially in regard to callers. You wouldn't believe how many hosts who will be on a pretty coherent train of thought that will immediately throw on the brakes and bring their show to a grinding halt because they see a phone call coming in on the control room screen.

Honestly, one you accept that he's a sack of manure stuffed in a suit, Rush is kind of fun to listen to. O'Reilly, same thing.

There was really good piece on Rush in the NYT Sunday mag a few months ago, I think. He makes no bones whatsoever about being non-ideological, in that he's 100% in it for the money.

rush, i have to admit, is very talented at radio. it's tough to fill up 4 hours of airtime a day. the writer of that profile didn't have anything to say about limbaugh pushing information on air that is just factually incorrect, which does a disservice to his own listeners, not to mention the general discourse in this country..

Uh, given what happened to that Congressbro who said something bad about Rush and then had to go begging forgiveness, I find this hard to believe.

rush is mock-heroic and grandiose and all, and while i'm sure he has a high opinion of himself i don't think he buys into his spiel even as he expects his audience to do so. o'reilly/olberman/hannity/savage do a lot of bullshit riffing too but i hear them as being more 'into it'. rush would be most like ann coulter in that respect, in my opinion, though her persona is more spiteful than self-aggrandizing.

Hannity, Beck, Schnitt, et al are "serious" because they rarely joke! Meanwhile the Rush listeners I know consider him an entertaining soothsayer.

even if you somehow swallow all of that, you have to believe that trump was willing to take the risk of tasking a backchannel group (led by the smartest man he knew, rudy giuliani) to take on the near and dear subject of corruption in Ukraine, and that it just happened to be Ukraine, and the subject of his earnest effort to reduce corruption in Ukraine juuuuust happened to be a Biden.
