We would be remiss were we not to anticipate Tara Reid in SyFy's SHARKNADO

But then, in a stunning sequence of unadulterated camp, Sharknado proves it knows what it was doing. A successful B movie not only embraces its more ludicrous tendencies, but finds a new, even campier angle to exploit. It acknowledges that it’s ridiculous even while the characters, facing a shark or a sharktopus or a sharknado, don’t. In the case of Sharknado, it sends Ian Ziering into the belly of a Great White with a chainsaw so he can cut himself out of the Great White with a chainsaw, and then drag the presumed dead Nova out with him since it turns out they both got swallowed whole by the same Great White because sometimes life hands you awesome, and it's called Sharknado.

Awaiting the inevitable backsplash

so this was terrible. not even good at what it attempted to be. I generally have a problem with films that willfully attempt to be 'cult classics', trying to manufacture faux-camp through annoying "wink-wink-nudge-nudge-we're-in-on-the-joke" horseshit. This wasn't even mindless fun.

yeah this sort of thing is like the instant coffee of "B movies"--just made so that people can feel superior to it. i blame MST3K

i saw a movie called Avalanche Sharks that was pretty funny. sharks on a snow resort that was trying to be a new Tremors. its super low budget so they could only afford to have one hot tub and the same 3-4 bikini babes that get in and out of the tub like a half dozen times.
