I was *this* close to buying orange Jnco knock-offs in high school. My life would have been so much different....

I'm so proud of the fact that I never owned a pair of these despite having various friends who indulged in this hideous trend back in the dark 90s.

Has this sort of thing seen a ironic/retro revival yet?

I have a fantasy of working in an office and wearing jncos on casual friday to see what would happen.

Treeship, Monday, 15 July 2013 01:25 (ten years ago) link

They had a nice swoosh sound to them when you were hackeysacking.

I was self-conscious about my jeans in europe too because they didnt seem cool enough. They were levis 501s

Treeship, Monday, 15 July 2013 15:07 (ten years ago) link

I had to have khaki pants for a housecleaning job I had in the mid-90s and I bought a pair of men's JNCO khaki's, which were just like Dockers but with huge wide legs. I really liked them because I could wear knee pads under them. Then I wore them to job as a database manager where we could wear business clothes or khakis and a corporate uniform shirt. Then I dyed them purple.

I kind of miss those pants, actually.

Yes! The Jnco and other assorted Pacific Sunwear/Hot Topic-esque khakis could be pretty awesome. I definitely had some pants that could seamlessly make the transition from telemarketing office to suburban pot den.

Lol @ corporate JNCOs

Silver ball necklace otm. I recently found one while looking through a box of mostly old raver flyers.

Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Monday, 15 July 2013 16:45 (ten years ago) link

Had the ball necklace.

how's life, Monday, 15 July 2013 16:45 (ten years ago) link

But since this shouldn't have to be the JNCOs and assorted ravewear memorial thread, here's this:

I did not have the silver ball necklace but I did have two blonde streaks bleached into the front of my hair. Also it is possible I habitually wore a HEMP NECKLACE. I was living with a houseful of snowboarders in northern CA and doing a lot of drugs, so that is my excuse for all of it. xp

I bought a hemp necklace instruction book with complimentary roll of hemp twine from a Ben Franklin in suburban Wisconsin while on vacation with my parents. I tried really hard to make a bracelet or something, but I fucked it all up.

If companies used men, children, or flat-chested women as their t-shirt models it would make for less distortion of their fonts in the product shots.

yeah, that was the other funny thing: the combo of the bad grammar and the botching of an already stupid "office-philosophy" saying!

Abuse of "everyday" is very high on my enemies list, though I know it's a losing battle.
