on what level?

i stopped reading way before the end because it just seemed to be taking an interminable length of time to make some really trite observation

In which case, skip to the last pages, read on from "That's enough, young man"

I really liked the art on that interminable comic, but yeah, I'm pretty sure it could have used way less words to explore that theme in a far less trite and annoying manner.

emil.y, Wednesday, 25 September 2013 14:15 (ten years ago) link

That cartoon was confusing babble. The author was playing with paradox, but very ineptly. Oscar Wilde, now there was a man who could spin a paradox and most all of them could fit into four panels or less.

Would you say this was more or less rewarding than the long comic about the Russian orphan that ended in everybody's death?

jfc i wanna kill it

i was just thinking, despite the artwork it's just as reddity as the russian orphan death comic

I can't even read enough of it to figure out where it's going.

it seemed like a very thinly veiled science vs. religion debate.

PRISON WARDEN CONSCIOUSNESS (4th Dimension) (Viceroy), Thursday, 26 September 2013 00:40 (ten years ago) link

Yeah it sounded like some kind of fluff that's supposed to make you think about the axioms you accept regarding our existence... Kind of exhausting though.

Evan, Thursday, 26 September 2013 01:06 (ten years ago) link

Paradox was one of my class's vocab words today.

Untt (La Lechera), Thursday, 26 September 2013 19:14 (ten years ago) link

the art on that was really cool but I don't know if it really needed to be 56,000 panels long

Oh, so is it the pedophiles that are supposed to do the animal testing? I guess seeing as how they are in prison, they got some other people to deputise for them.

haha but thats not a picture of the woods

lag∞n, Wednesday, 2 October 2013 03:21 (ten years ago) link

It came with this in its sidebar:

“Every walk to the woods is a religious rite, every bath in the stream is a saving ordinance. Communion service is at all hours, and the bread and wine are from the heart and marrow of Mother Earth. There are no heretics in Nature’s church; all are believers, all are communicants. The beauty of natural religion is that you have it all the time; you do not have to seek it afar off in myths and legends, in catacombs, in garbled texts, in miracles of dead saints or wine-bibbing friars. It is of today; it is now and here; it is everywhere.” ~John Burroughs, Accepting the Universe
