My 5S order still says 'Ships:October'

ordered mine from vz website on the friday they were available and got it this past friday

I'd have probably gotten one from a carrier by now, but I've chosen to buy an unlocked one and be a carrier nomad. probably overrated.

really not much mind blowing abt the 5S. fingerprint unlock is awesome. response time is snappy but as usual a lot of what you do on the phone is bottlenecked at places other than the processor (FB, youtube, etc).

on the negative front it seems to have trouble with signal, particularly when leaving a wifi area and having to switch to cellular. my 4 handles this more gracefully, hopefully this is something an OS update will fix.

I held up my 4s to the case that has arrived before the phone (hah! sorry caek), and the 5/5s is a little bit narrower. The one I held in the store seems perceptibly lighter, and that darned extra row of icons that you iPhone 5 owners probably don't even notice. I think this will be a good upgrade.

I thought of the gold iPhone this weekend. My friend's wife has to use a walker after having been in the hospital and as a gift, he painted it gold.

the fb friends of mine who are excited about the gold iphone are not people I would ever go to for style advice

i prefer the regular 5 dark-grey metallic back to the 5s silver back, but not a big deal. well see if the 64gb ends up being as worth it as im hoping

IMO there is never a reason to get less than the max storage capacity; you will find a use for it regardless unless you are specifically attempting to limit yourself from doing certain things with your phone/iPad

I had my iPhone fairly full but tbh I've barely had my 64gb one above 30gb for the past year, so.. eh

I do own a 64GB iPad though

I have a 16GB 5S - I don't put any music or video on the phone, so I've never come close to filling one.

i went with silver/white 64GB too. only so much space because ive had the worst time with 32gb ipadfs and 16gb phones like having to delete stuff to make room for updates etc. not interested in 2 more years of that.

i probably would have been okay with 32gb. kind of ordering some space luxury here.

I saw a coworker with the slate/space grey whatever and it did look really good. kind of gave off a blue sheen.

it does look nice but I prefer the black 5

i'm wondering if changing to space gray, and introducing champange, is related to the ease of anodizing the aluminum... the 5 black was very scratch prone

am i the only one who mostly considers covers when picking a phone color? i mean im not crazy about the gold but to me its the worst because what cover is going to look good with that? whereas silver/white and black are okay with a ton of stuff.

I only got a cover for my 5 after I broke the glass on front, so my original choice was solely based on the phone itself
