was going to post this on the psych/drone thread but suspected it would be ripped apart for it being too close to brmc, warlocks, dead meadows etc, albeit in a more ramshackle, self produced, jam band kinda groove.
but given this thread has been revived ..
i have listened to this album more this week than anything else, and enjoy it more with each spin.

oh, and i seriously love the artwork as well.

smooth age, from that night burger comp, is very cool. i like the faraway tribal drums and overall menacing vibe. good recommendation.

excellent jazz quartet whose debut album I've been loving for over a year now. A second album coming out soon, and I'm looking forward to it.

I hope this doesn't get dismissed as stupid without investigating: the soundtrack to Minecraft is actually one of the better ambient records I've heard recently, and has some flat-out stunning moments.

Dilly Dally. From Toronto, have two songs up on Bandcamp, and that's all I know about them. The earlier track is kinda meh, but I've had "Next Gold" on repeat periodically throughout the afternoon:

skip, Thursday, 12 February 2015 19:21 (nine years ago) link

i love bands like Sheer Mag where they operate w/such (in a sense) totally played out forms and influence but there's some sort of undefinable spark to it and the tunes are just THERE

reminds me of the Exploding Hearts in that sense though these guys add a few more classic rock moves to their power pop/garage punk

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/20/arts/music/bandcamp-shopping-for-music.html

Bandcamp hired a smart staff to create about 20 times the amount of editorial content that had been there previously, writing about music that had just been posted as well as parts of its deep and woolly catalog, in a feature called “Bandcamp Daily.”

Anyone reading this stuff on the site regularly? I see that M*rk M*sters, who co-wrote that experimental/avante rock column for Pitchfork , is writing for them a bit

curmudgeon, Thursday, 29 September 2016 20:25 (seven years ago) link

I'm writing for them too. Nothing I've done has been published yet (their lead times are print-mag long), but I just turned in a guide to the Axiom Records catalog - which is being reissued, piecemeal, on Bill Laswell's Bandcamp page.

The subscription model is just basically the Patreon business model, no?:
If 1000 people like what you do enough to pay you $100 a year, you can make a living doing it.

Joe Henderson, The Complete An Evening With Joe Henderson (live date with Charlie Haden & Al Foster)
Jerome Deupree/Matthew Shipp/Joe Morris, Travelogue

Temulent, Progressive Illness Vols. 1 & 2 (drum 'n' bass)

What IS the point of expiring links, even?
