I am enjoying the BIG tournament but then again I have a 25-30ish moonstone, 50ish daken and 15 ragnarok (puled last night from a standard pull, stooooked -- just wish it wasn't green). good enough t beat people lvl 1 yelenas and bullseyes anyway.

The only Dark Avenger I have on my phone team is a lvl 27 Daken

I'm currently ranked #49 in the Bad Is Good tournament; if no one on the opposing team is over lvl 20, I can solo them and usually end up with full health

This character is ridiculously OP in some ways.

I'm thinking that I should maybe start over because I'm still at a sufficiently low level and am pretty sure I spent some Hero Points on things other than roster slots.

i wouldn't worry about it; they give out those coins with solid regularity. any of the 1 and 2 star guys aren't hard to find in game within the story missions so if you temporarily lose, say, black widow or hawkeye or either storm or juggernaut or yelena or venom, they're easy to get again when you have the space later.

I've spent about 300 hero points on covers, and one of those tries paid off big time (wolvie x force) so

I'm not hoarding characters so I don't care so much about roster spots.

playing bad tourney is a pain with two dakens; each match takes more than twice as long and is rigorously boring. hard to find pvp players who aren't using him.

I just started playing this and my understanding is pretty weak. The coins in-game are the freemium bit of it but you still earn them occasionally and need them to level up (unless you get another cover), the purple crystals let you power up within a level, and apparently you only get a certain number of roster slots?

The only really confusing bit so far has been where I've played a level a couple times and obviously defeated every enemy, had no losses, and there's still not a checkmark on that location. Is there a list of goals for every level somewhere so that I can "complete" them?

click on the missions, they will usually say something like "1/4 rewards" or something like that with a flashing icon in the lower right corner showing which of the objective rewards you've gotten

also don't use coins to level, use them to buy roster spots

right. and you don't need to get all the rewards for the Prologue missions, just beating it once is enough to unlock the next set of levels. but you'll eventually want to go back and grab those rewards, ya know, because OCD.

I am really shocked by how much of a bad-ass modern Hawkeye is in The Hunt

if he has Avoid and Blast Arrow, you can basically use him to destroy all three characters at once

i have a purple cover but was holding out for the fifth red attack... am i doing it backward?

it's hard to want to use any red attack but thor's when he gets 2k damage from two red matches

Avoid (Purple) kinda sucks. I lvled it up to 5 without thinking, feel like it's kind of a waste.

in normal circumstances, Thor > modern Hawkeye
in The Hunt, a modern Hawkeye with 4 red can hit every opposing character for something like 2700 dmg each in one attack if you successfully protect his countdown tile
right now I'm targeting a 5/5/3 build for him

oh, that red hits ALL enemies? yeah, that changes things.
i guess i'll shift my levelling from daken to mod hawk up to 20 or so and then go back and forth.

Sitting in or near the top 10 in bad is good since the onset, nobody seems to want to mess with my bottom-feeder rag, mid-level moonstone and 51 daken.

i like these actually-restricted missions more than the "buff" missions, means people actually have to try new people -- all i have learned so far is that i need more rag covers to make him useful & i dunno if moonstone will ever be good

Yelena looked completely useless until I fought her with modern Hawkeye and she kept fucking up his countdowns; now I want to level her specifically to neutralize anyone using modern Hawkeye in PVP (baghead Spidey has a similar usage with his counter increaser and I think regular Spidey can also fuck with countdowns?)

they really need to fix environmental effects so they scale.
100 hp for +5 ap is a game changing no-brainer, 50hp bonus for hot dogs is some bullshit.

Moonstone's Gravity Warp ability is pretty good, (make a 4/5 match with special tile swap or get a free critical hit), the others i'm iffy on. Haven't leveled her past 15-ish though.

I look at that map is a neutral environment tile - hot dog isn't very useful and it takes forever to get that Narrow Alleyways super special or whatever it's called

that change everything to red special is crazy good.

now that there's nobody boosted in the tourney, i'm having to train myself out of making env tile matches as much, since without the boosts they're not as important (for the critical skill especially)

bullseye's adamantium bones ability is a (super-annoying) counterpoint to daken's pheromone ability so i usually go after him first. i can deal with daken, because it usually gives you priority on the pheromone pop, so often i'll get 2 and he'll get... less than 2? because all of the red tiles are accupado

I'm underpowered and focusing mainly on the PvE missions, but hitting him in the early rounds is kind of inefficient because of his healing. If I leave him alone (or at least until I have enough AP saved to finish him in one turn), I can avoid all the counterattack/healing nonsense.

if you see an opportunity to starve him out via killing yellows, he basically kills himself pretty quickly too. used that against a stronger daken recently (sacrificing my own daken in the process, somewhat) and it was pretty easy. won't always work though, especially if you get lots of isolated yellows around the bottom of the board

only a strategy ot use if the board is already close to good for it

I'm enjoying having Bullseye (with purple power) in the Dark Avengers tourney; just pop a few purples & the enemy does 1 damage against me. ANNOYING AS HELL but I win
