Has anyone watched DH's cartoon? It's called "Rick and Morty" and is on Adult Swim, and episodes are about 10 minutes long. It follows a kid and his constantly drunk mad scientist grandfather, sort of feeling like a Family Guy take on Dr. Who or something. I enjoyed the a-story about the title characters, but the b-story is the mom and dad, the latter of whom acts like he is the most brilliant person in the world and just won't shut up and really drags the whole thing down.

episodes are about 10 minutes long
r&m episodes are a standard 22 minutes fwiw.

Quite like that it's centred around the campus again tbh. That was a big failing of the last season, and a good chunk of the third.
i remember Mordy pimping Rick and Morty, keep meaning to watch it. maybe when it hits netflix

Rick And Morty didn't impress me at all when i saw it, been meaning to give it a second chance

As some have noted on its thread, the first episode is a little meh, but after that, look out.

This was kind of a dark episode. The Abed-Hickey scenes were rawer than this show usually plays it.

I don't think I liked this episode as much as the reviewers, but this season has been astonishingly great. I love what they are doing with Buzz, Duncan and even Chang. At this point I want the rest of the original cast slowly phased out and the series continuing indefinitely with new characters, ER-style.
― Frederik B, Friday, 28 February 2014 21:30 (ten years ago) link
It was a good episode. I still miss troy. But they are doing something about that. The Chang plot was great, and the final visual gag.

Good ep but one gag fell flat due to recent key and peele Halloween ep gag that is far superior

this episode is why I am so glad Harmon is back... less funny, but like 100x more interesting (and still pretty funny!). that Key and Peele sketch was so good it's not even fair to compare other stuff to it.

Was it resolved whether Chang was actually at the reception? I love the idea of the janitor and/or theatre audience just randomly messing with him.
― jmm, Saturday, 1 March 2014 14:43 (ten years ago) link
Daaaark episode but I really enjoyed it, thought this one did all the character and relationship-building stuff the previous one should have. There's still loads of potential in building the Jeff and Duncan double-act.
Britta's character has been hard-done by in the last couple of seasons but they're doing great things with her this time round.

I didn't really find Koogler very funny but the rest of the episode was A+++.
I notice they didn't include Magnitude in that episode because he would really have blown the Meowmeowbeanz system wide open.

Didn't get any of the references (I'm told Hunger Games was one...?), still loved it. Very laff-heavy episode, especially after last week's...in fact, probably the most laff-heavy of the conceptual game-takes-over-Greendale eps.

mitch hurwitz played koogler, he and harmon have become fast friends over the past year or so (dan had a cameo in the netflix arrested development episodes) so i think they were just finding something for hurwitz to do / spoofing on goofy college movies.

And because of the Buck Rogers link in my head I was reminder of the South Park that riffed heavily on that I'm just going to post it (again)
