Nhex otm, ever having more than 5 is a waste because you're throwing away every one that could regenerate

Blowing through all of them in 90 minutes is completely logical if you're going to take a break and not play the game for the next 90 minutes

have a nice blood (mh), Wednesday, 19 February 2014 19:19 (ten years ago) link

was at 19 in DD this morning, raced up to 6 before I started getting hit, clawed my way to 4 with 1.5 hrs left, and shielded. checked in 10 minutes before tourney end and saw I had been passed and now was at 6. Queued up one good target, boosted to heck, broke my shield, hit the target and threw up another shield with 8 min left. nailed all 3 mags covers including my first purple. drama!

eric banana (s.clover), Wednesday, 19 February 2014 19:20 (ten years ago) link

otm about these events being good to build characters... I'm about to get OGBW up to lv83

PSY talks The Nut Job (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 19 February 2014 19:23 (ten years ago) link

The simulation specifically has really good rewards and yet is mega mega easy as long as you have one or two of the characters with buffs. I have an unleveled three star Hulk and an unleveled two star Cap'n and they are fucken wailing on dudes.

polyphonic, Wednesday, 19 February 2014 19:52 (ten years ago) link

throwing boosted hulk against patch was hella fun. after he fired off his green, a few hits sent hulk popping off greens left and right and basically ended the game in 1 turn.

eric banana (s.clover), Wednesday, 19 February 2014 20:26 (ten years ago) link

i feel like they are (intelligently) trying to present players with alt wolvie/thor/ogbw matchups so you can see how boss some of these characters can be

PSY talks The Nut Job (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 19 February 2014 20:27 (ten years ago) link

latest tourneys have gotten me back on the daken boat, so I'm just leveling him up steadily this tourney

Euler, Wednesday, 19 February 2014 20:30 (ten years ago) link

xpost, also like using xforce just to keep patch off my team, bagman to force me to go sans spidey, etc. after the last few disasters this is a generally very well structured pve.

eric banana (s.clover), Wednesday, 19 February 2014 20:52 (ten years ago) link

def. agreed

Nhex, Wednesday, 19 February 2014 20:54 (ten years ago) link

oh yeah, they definitely picked up the pieces well. everybody needed a boost.

PSY talks The Nut Job (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 19 February 2014 21:18 (ten years ago) link

It's making me wish I'd upped C Storm way earlier, but as of now, she's going to be stuck behind Daken (and then 2* Wolvie(!)) in my ISO queue.

eeeLuvium (Leee), Wednesday, 19 February 2014 21:30 (ten years ago) link

And I will still rep for Cap, I think once you average out his Red ability, it's pretty high (and repeatable!) damage, but maybe I'm stanning for him because I've got him at L46.

eeeLuvium (Leee), Wednesday, 19 February 2014 21:31 (ten years ago) link

there are a bunch of characters that are great that no one ever played because of the Rag/Thor/AstWolvie/CStorm/OBW shadow IMO (modHawk is still way better than ppl think, esp if matched up with dmg sponges and/or IM40)

sent as gassed to onto rt dominance (DJP), Wednesday, 19 February 2014 21:49 (ten years ago) link

I have no IM40 :(

I am slowly getting more modern hawkeye, though!

have a nice blood (mh), Wednesday, 19 February 2014 21:54 (ten years ago) link

had a couple really nice plays with dd in the tourney too. he's so hit-and-miss but taking out a lvl 90 spidey with one match or grabbing 5ap each because you anticipated the AI is really satisfying. can't see him entering my regular rotation though.

eric banana (s.clover), Wednesday, 19 February 2014 22:19 (ten years ago) link

i can see the devs slowly making the game better for slow-build characters like IM40, Cap, Modern Hawkeye, etc. Or alternatively, nerfing the fast characters, like they've already done with Thorverine and such

still terrified of DD, if he gets up a trap it's like nooooooo

Nhex, Thursday, 20 February 2014 05:30 (ten years ago) link

I've actually been decent at predicting where the trap gets laid, though I usually avoid all of that trap's colors in general (at least when I remember to).

So, squeezed a quick game in this morning and discovered that I got three whole Moonstone covers. Grrr, LET THE MAGNETO NERFING BEGIN.

eeeLuvium (Leee), Thursday, 20 February 2014 17:34 (ten years ago) link

OTOH, perhaps now I will have room and opportunity to add the Moonchild to my roster (four covers sitting in my queue).

NERF MAGNETO.

eeeLuvium (Leee), Thursday, 20 February 2014 18:05 (ten years ago) link

I got a blue OWB cover yesterday! now have her at 4-3-5. what's the consensus on the best build for her?

Euler, Thursday, 20 February 2014 18:35 (ten years ago) link

OBW I mean, not Occupy West Baltimore

Euler, Thursday, 20 February 2014 18:36 (ten years ago) link

my ogbw is at 3/5/5 and I wouldn't have her any other way honestly.

PSY talks The Nut Job (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 20 February 2014 18:46 (ten years ago) link

3/5/5 on the reasoning that her purple is optimized between cost and stealing at 3, and that the more she has in blue and black, the better.

eeeLuvium (Leee), Thursday, 20 February 2014 18:46 (ten years ago) link

AKA wait for the respec.

eeeLuvium (Leee), Thursday, 20 February 2014 18:47 (ten years ago) link

sung to the tune of "on to the next one"

PSY talks The Nut Job (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 20 February 2014 18:48 (ten years ago) link

I went 5-5-3 because I wanted to steal an entire rainbow of colors

sent as gassed to onto rt dominance (DJP), Thursday, 20 February 2014 18:49 (ten years ago) link

I would agree, or go 5/3/5. I went 4/5/4 and wish I'd stuck at 3 for Black (for more damage) or Purple (to facilitate steal looping).

Nhex, Thursday, 20 February 2014 18:50 (ten years ago) link

that is, gone to 5 for Black or Purple

Nhex, Thursday, 20 February 2014 18:50 (ten years ago) link

magnow 5/5/3 buffed plus ogbw with a 3/5/5 is a crazy unstoppable team.
purple for magnow creates a blue attack and ogbw heals with blue, so any purple or blue match basically leads to healing.
tank with thor in the front and you can match red/yellow/green for offensive + blue/purple for defense
I'm ending most of my matches in this magnet round with full health. At #4 on my leaderboard but easily jumping up to #1 whenever i want.
I am at 84 on ogbw and was gonna work on all the villains levels and hulk but methinks magnow is the next dude to heavy level and work into rotation

PSY talks The Nut Job (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 20 February 2014 18:59 (ten years ago) link

yeah 4 blue covers on OBW is boring, but 5 could be good; otoh I think 5-3-5 would be good.

had a battle with bagman this morning & he did his dumb snarky remark attack on his teammate Big Pun's red timer, lol. did it TWICE even.

Euler, Thursday, 20 February 2014 19:39 (ten years ago) link

lol maybe the bag slipped over his eyes.

eeeLuvium (Leee), Thursday, 20 February 2014 20:16 (ten years ago) link

5 vs 3 in obw purp is if you want cheap early steal or brutal midgame steal. 4 is no good either way.

3/5/5 is how i run with mine, and that works fine. i mainly care about steal not to build brutal ap for myself but just for denial.

eric banana (s.clover), Thursday, 20 February 2014 21:00 (ten years ago) link

Nhex, your post in the Trek thread made me think that we're overdue for a Dazzler card.

eeeLuvium (Leee), Thursday, 20 February 2014 21:02 (ten years ago) link

haha noooooooo

Nhex, Thursday, 20 February 2014 21:06 (ten years ago) link

damn, i want that now

PSY talks The Nut Job (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 20 February 2014 21:12 (ten years ago) link

Dazzler didn't do anything in Dark Reign, did she? Pixie and Trance had higher profiles in that story than she did.

sent as gassed to onto rt dominance (DJP), Thursday, 20 February 2014 21:12 (ten years ago) link

btw a Pixie card would rule:

Disorient (purple): Pixie blows dust in the opponent's face, either stunning them for 1 turn or making them attack their own team while losing a turn
Teleport (black): swaps 5 green tiles with blue tiles, causing X dmg per tile
Flight (blue passive): Pixie flies out of danger if there are more than 8 blue tiles on the board

sent as gassed to onto rt dominance (DJP), Thursday, 20 February 2014 21:16 (ten years ago) link

If they could figure out a Rogue card that could absorb an enemy's ability and use it for a turn or two, that would also be boss (and probably OP)

sent as gassed to onto rt dominance (DJP), Thursday, 20 February 2014 21:25 (ten years ago) link

Actually, Rogue's card could have 2 passives and an active, which stuns the enemy character and steals their ability set for 2 turns

sent as gassed to onto rt dominance (DJP), Thursday, 20 February 2014 21:26 (ten years ago) link

i'm glad i'm not the only fanfic card maker
here's my watcher

Eternal - (Purple passive) - If Watcher is the only surviving party member, he deals on burst level equivalent damage to all members of the opposing party, winning the battle if he clears all opposition. If this does not end the battle, Watcher retreats, ending the battle in a loss.

Omnipotence - (Blue - 3 match) - Shows the most effective and damaging match (including cascade damage) for two/three/four/five/six rounds

Inaction - (Black) - Blocks opposing team from using any special attacks for two turns (eight match) / two turns (six match) / three turns (six match) / three turns (four match) / four turns (four match)

PSY talks The Nut Job (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 20 February 2014 21:27 (ten years ago) link

plus his attacks take 1.25 ap but do no damage.

i wanted a character that has no offensive capabilities but some killer defensive options and makes you have to decide if you wanna give up the roster space

PSY talks The Nut Job (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 20 February 2014 21:28 (ten years ago) link

(maybe Rogue is a 2-ability card, with a passive and the power steal)

sent as gassed to onto rt dominance (DJP), Thursday, 20 February 2014 21:28 (ten years ago) link

I've mused about a Rouge card, too! Maybe her passive would be to match the color and damage amount of an opponent's highest tile attack.

Her power steal would probably have to be a countdown to keep her from being OP.

eeeLuvium (Leee), Thursday, 20 February 2014 21:29 (ten years ago) link

yeah that's what I was thinking (re: countdown)

sent as gassed to onto rt dominance (DJP), Thursday, 20 February 2014 21:30 (ten years ago) link

Jeez, Palining it up: Rogue.

eeeLuvium (Leee), Thursday, 20 February 2014 21:30 (ten years ago) link

haha the more I think about a Rogue card, the more I think that card would just become defacto necessary; like I don't think there's a way to nerf Rogue's power set and still not have her break the game (unless the abilities she steals get scaled down to her level)

sent as gassed to onto rt dominance (DJP), Thursday, 20 February 2014 21:33 (ten years ago) link

otoh I want a Rogue card so I can steal Devil Dinosaur's bite ability, because lol

sent as gassed to onto rt dominance (DJP), Thursday, 20 February 2014 21:34 (ten years ago) link

Xorn would have a couple of you-know-who's abilities plus a heal.

eeeLuvium (Leee), Thursday, 20 February 2014 21:37 (ten years ago) link

omnipotence is a bomb idea.

eric banana (s.clover), Thursday, 20 February 2014 22:06 (ten years ago) link

Ugh, I just maxed my Thor because I didn't know what else to do. I might as well max all 2 starred cards now.

Jeff, Thursday, 20 February 2014 22:22 (ten years ago) link

That's a problem I'd like to have.
