yeah this show is a new favorite for me, the two leads are so great and they have consistently good guest stars.

Except that running around NYC is what the show usually does…??? Not including that last episode when they were stuck inside Abbi's apartment, of course.

Is that the wedding one? There was a hilarious lazy b-roll montage in that, which was like a shot of a bunch of "I Love NY" t-shirts CUT TO a shot of a bunch of "I Love NY" coffee mugs CUT TO a shot of some other "I Love NY" t-shirts. LOL. Like, oh, this takes place in NYC?

I meant multiple jokeless scenes/shots of them literally running around. That was different.

If you visit New York for like 20 minutes you'd realize that a montage of cheap NY souvenirs represents "a place a real New Yorker rarely ventures" and was thus meant to imply that the women were running around in a place that wasn't their comfort zone

i think they do a pretty good job of capturing "actual new york"; i lolled at dude being unwilling to go with her to peen station (sic) because it was "gross" but i think that really woulda been more accurately applied to port authority

Hurricane episode was hilarious. Wedding episode was absolutely terrible. Just the pits. I mean, the gay guy doing drugs and incest jokes weren't funny the first time, but they ran them into the ground so hard I wonder if it was intentional, and even then they still weren't funny. I also wonder if they wrote these two even more cartoonish and obnoxious than our characters characters to make some sort of point, which also wasn't funny.

Oh well, they can't all be winners.

I didn't like the wedding episode as much as i've liked others but I did love ilana howling with despair that abbi touched boobs with another girl.

Kinda surprised how flat Amy Sedaris' scenes felt on tonight's episode. I'm afraid to revisit Strangers with Candy in case it hasn't aged well.

I agree - she didn't quite click for some reason. Having watched SWC recently it still holds up for me, though!

i thought the joek abt the racist dating site thing fell flat, was too idk hack sitcom bait-and-switch-y or something, but the rest of this ep was p good. this show is v good, well done all involved.

I thought that joke would've been better if the racism was more subtle dog-whistle style. Like obv that it was racist but not so blatant and cartoony. Sedaris was a little over the top too but generally I thought the episode was killer.

SWC really does hold up. Haven't seen this new BC ep yet tho.

I remember watching the movie in the theater and my friends and I were the only people in there besides a couple who I knew.

I guess I'm not as picky but all the episodes of this show so far have been good to great IMO. Top 2 were probably the package delivery episode and the hurricane episode.

Yeah I love this show and have very few, very minor complaints.

Oh it's all good, except for the wedding ep, which is almost all bad, strangely enough. My wife loves this. She said it's like Workaholics "but with more girl stuff."

Also way funnier than Workaholics this season.

lmao - I came to this thread because Ilana is touring through my neck of the woods and wanted to see if anyone knows what her show consists of, if it's any good, etc. Then I scrolled ever so slightly upthread and saw a unanimous consensus that her standup special is horrible. Anyone have a different opinion? New show more worth seeing? Something other than straight standup? I haven't watched the special and no plan to based on the above commentary but it doesn't surprise me tbh that her whole thing might leave a very different impression without Abby to balance, they have a very precise and possibly delicate dynamic
