I liked Don't Escape but found it a bit hard to see things that I needed to click (not quite 'pixel-hunty', more just dark).

My favourite that I've played out of these (or possibly tied with No-One Has to Die) is Save the Date, it's a funny 'dating sim' that really unfurls into its own after a couple of playthroughs.

Save the Date was a good one, enjoyed it much more than No-one Has to Die

I can't get further than the 500 and something one.

yeah, 512 is my highest i think

it has a mechanic that kind of encourages you to just click away at it, which doesn't help once things get tight

my high score is 4676 - i think i got half away from 2048, so 1024?

I've hit the low 6000's in points but don't think I've exceeded the 512 guy

my trick is to start with and keep the big numbers at the top, and never ever press down unless you have no other move

i was wondering if the best solution is purely algorithmic, but i guess the random placement of new 2 tiles stops that. i couldn't tell if it was actually random or not, though

sometimes the new tile is a 4 and i want to kill myself!

i've got a slight hunch this might be an elaborate practical joke, because i've been playing in for enough hours straight to feel like it's mathematically impossilbe

With caek's "never press down" policy I got the 1024, with a score of 12688. Enough for tonight!

yeah the Caek Method has greatly improved my score, can't recommend it enough

got to about 14300 with the caek method. the 'endgame' of this is such a singular experience of being totally in the zone and madly frustrated simultaenously

Ha I went through all this pain a month ago with Threes before eventually concluding there was too much randomness in there for it to be worth persevering.

2048 is really ingenious, definitely have to not let myself play that anymore. The one thing is that the mechanic never quite locks into my brain, so I constantly end up zigging when I mean to zag and going "oh dammit that's not what I meant to do." Kinda needs an 'undo one move' feature but maybe that would ruin the fun?

Got miserably hooked on Super Crate Box last weekend - the instant respawn and fast pace really make "oh ONE more try to hit the number" tempting.
