I just bought series 1 of Rosanne and it is definitely Classic.

There's a mid-point that I like the best, I couldn't say which season it is but it's when Darlene goes from sorta funny to completely awesome. Then Becky 2.0 shows up and it's kind of weird after that.

There are still many good bits from the Chalke era on, don't get me wrong, but Lecy Goranson was the truth.

Darlene is uber-hot, no question. Sarah Chalke never did anything for me. I know she's improved a lot since then, but when she was on Roseanne, she was easily the worst actor on the show. It wasn't just that she wasn't a convincing Becky, she wasn't a convincing human. Completely wooden, and acting that bad cancels out the hotness, for me. Lecy had loads more personality, and I think that made her attractive in a weird way when she came back for most of season 8. She was really gawky before that.

i am neutral on roseanne herself but:
the show was awesome for the first few seasons, pos my favourite show for a while there - you could really tell they were having fun doing it too - crass sure but warm and fuzzy and real (except for laff track obv)
