I was just watching an episode of 90s antiques-based drama Lovejoy and there was a long shot with a kidnap victim handover that, if you swapped the rural Somerset landscape for New Mexico, could've been straight out of Breaking Bad.

I just learned that the guy who plays Skinny Pete is apparently 50! They wanted to cast an older guy playing a younger guy to show the ravages of meth.

i just watched GOOD TIME last night and i was wondering if Jennifer Jason Leigh was supposed to be playing someone her age or much younger, for similar drug ravages-related reasons.

though she is someone who still seems a good decade or so younger than she really is.

v much not interested in the latter day struggles of Jesse Pinkman, I have to say. By the end he was more of a totem than a character. Is Skyler gonna get an after-Breaking Bad movie too lol

Are people not hyped for the new thing? It comes out tomorrow, I’m up for it although it looks like it might be a bit grim and oppressive (& I always thought the final shot of Jesse was enough). Will be good to go back to that world while we’re waiting for more BCS. For some reason whenever I try to anticipate what this film will be like I always just think of the movie good time

There was a scene where he manipulates a teenage girl into buying meth at a gas station (can’t remember why) that was very similar to stuff rpatz does in that. Also they look exactly the same afaic

Jesse's character was dealt with in a pretty cursory way in the final season of BB so I see this as redressing the balance somewhat.

Watched the episode where Walt is fucked up and tells Junior about his father's Huntington's Disease the next morning and apologizes, even knowing how everything turns out there's a moment there when I would have been totally cool with a redemption arc.

El Camino was excellent. Highly recommended if you are a fan of the show.

Definitely goIng to watch this as loved the show. My wife hasn’t seen the show, will she be able to enjoy it as a stand-alone film?

If she's a person who can go into a movie/show that asks its audience to accept the ready-made world and to just go with it, probably.

Thinking through the main plot points (mind you, I got up a 4:30 a.m. because my cat is an asshole, and just stayed up to watch this so...I'm a little over my day already), there are a lot of references which make TOTAL sense to anyone who watched the show but which will go way over the head of anyone who didn't. A big part of the first half of the show is a flashback which will make sense MOSTLY, but will lack a good bit of context without having watched the show.

All that said, and without giving anything away, it moves very fast and works as its own story, but with some very obvious references to times and people past.

as much as i loved this show there is no way I'm going through the wringer of watching it all again just so i know what the hell's going on
