4 open roster spots, 200 hp.

i hesitate to call playing this "eventful" under any circumstances, but an "eventful" week: extra punisher card and my first 100+ level character, level max to cover capability for torch and classic mags, final covers for bagman and ares means that i know have every two and one star character cover maxed... no more excitement from silver covers again. On the other hand, with the exception of green hulk and purple grey widow, i still need every three and four star cover available. thus beginneth the superlong endgame. I've said this a dozen times but what's the point in making 1 and 2 star characters if every new character released from now on is three stars?

From here, I have to finish maxing out ares and then back to leveling up patch, grey widow / loki / ragnarok / i40 in line after, barring any new three star cover pickups. Hoping to get that black hulk cover shortly and will be fighting for the heroic 10pack over the next two weeks.

i think the only reason for 1 and 2* characters at this point is so new players have more content to get through before they start hitting the 3*s

i wouldn't wait on the Season 1 points, forks - you'll get points for the Loki tourney (and whatever character tourneys we get after) much more quickly than ranking up the SHIELD training - just burn up a few hundred pts. at least

Just a little bit demoralizing that I've been pulling something like 60% Yelenas the past two weeks.

Hustled to get to #9 with ~820 points in the Loki PVP, let's see if those two Doom covers will be mine.

Went from 43 to 91 overnight in Loki (was the last Ares I needed so maybe no biggie). That seems a bit of a drop for 4 hours.

Loki top 50 prize before a Loki tournament, with Doom top 50 leading into a Doom tourney... would indicate Falcon is up next?

ILXors I need your help!

I have a 5/5/2 Iron Man 40 at "max" level (128). I recently received a 3rd recharge card, which would allow me to cover max/level max him to 141. I had planned on keeping him at 128, as a very capable killer with red/blue recharge. However I am starting to waver... more damage from his big blasts, plus I am rolling green guys a lot more these days (my Pun and Hulk are pretty high up there now, it's been a while since I've rolled my old, boring OBW/MagNow/IM40 for maximum control & healing).

Should I pump that last cover into him? Or is the extra 2 yellow AP a bummer and not worth it for the 2-6 green AP it generates? Given how cheap Pun's green skill is, I am thinking I'll go for it (and cover max my first ***)... WHAT SAY U

i think you go for it and level your guy; isn't it a big hp jump?

6588 hp to 7250 hp, not bad
red power from 3244 to 3559 damage (ehhh not bad).
blue power from 2432 to 2669 damage each (basically insignificant).

Those aside, I guess I am really trying to figure out if I want 10 AP / 332 red blue green recharge, or 8 AP / 33 red blue recharge... all of my ISO for the next little while is going into Pun anyway (he's at 102 of 128 at the moment)

go all the way - that green recharge immediately makes him a better asset for more team combinations. it's a slog to get those yellow matches regardless. and if you're gonna use him at all, you want him as tanky as possible to bust out the RED LAZER

green recharge is nice, when I run him with pun it's nice to pop pun's green after a recharge

what are good model 40 parings? Mine's at 5-3-3 level 115 but I don't use him that much because he soaks all the damage and...I dunno, I just need a fun team for him

Classic Storm (yellow passive, blue and green recharge)
Thor (red and green recharges, but messes up the normal R>Y>G Thor cycle)
Punisher (same, lets you two-trigger kill with red ability much of the time)
Wolverine (ditto)
Doctor Doom (if you go all the way for the Lvl 5 recharge to spit black)

i can't find a better lineup than fully maxed Thor/OGBW/Magnow; Magnow's purple is a great battery for OGBW blue heal and red/green/yellow thor attacks clear the board. But no black!

wish list: another Pun cover; a spidey yellow cover; more hulk black; PATCHPATCHPATCH

Uses for IM40 in my experience largely have involved feeding other characters:
- As a battery for Magnow's red & OBW's blue = always swimming in AP, always healed (as long as nobody blows up OBW/Mag in one punch)
- Ditto that for a team with Wolvie on it, back when I used him a lot (when he could heal all the time)
- Presumably this would rule w/ CStorm too, but I never levelled her
- Spidey's infinite stun; I only have two blue covers and even then I could usually lock 1 or 2 guys if I rolled IM40 as well

With the extra green AP, I am seeing in my future:
- a LOT of Punisher green attacks = infinity damage forever (plus that red for tanks)
- Silly amounts of cascades with Hulk

Won't be using with:
- Any sort of Thor, but I avoid him anyway because he's so damn boring
- The Hood, because of that yellow skill... damn

don't get the magnow/obw non-love -- anything that keeps her in blue keeps you alive forever. im40/magnow/obw = half of the board is blue, more or less (8 yellow = 9ish blue from recharge, 9 purple (or more like 7 because you're getting espionage) = 8-11 blue from polarity shirt, 3 blue = 4 blue from espionage unless your IM40 is too high level).

I would usually slam the blue early with this method, ALWAYS have at least 9 in the tank, and try to grab yellow where i could because the red boost meant more magnetic fluxes. I almost never lost with this team (until some point about a week ago where I lost like 5 times in a row and still don't know why).

what about IM40 + Spidey; what's a good third for that? have red+blue+yellow covered but need a use for green...actually once I level up my Torch then he'd have a use for green & black.

of course no use dreaming of good three player teams unless I'm gonna spend time in shield training

IM40 + spidey is ok but you end up having to choose between healing and recharge
Grey Suit Black Widow is probably the best third for that combo (purple Spidey passive, allows GSBW to recharge her green which is boss)
Torch looks good, basically anyone with a good Green power I'd say

With my current roster my go-to team is Spidey/MagNow/AstWolvie because I like mitigation via stun over eternal heals (plus Spidey heals are stronger if I find myself in a health deficit). I do like Wolvie/OBW tho because of the escalating Espionage damage.

i wouldn't add that 3rd yellow actually. but then i'm a speed player + never had too much use for IM40 anyway. His best combo is with patch red I think, because the moment he drops into stun he also kicked you a bunch of red, so if you time it right patch covers way more tiles in the stun and then his red is utterly ferocious.

most green skills don't require huge AP either, so I really don't see the payout. on the other hand, I could see it for long-play with a HT combo because you need to keep pumping the green to feed his countdowns.
