I've done it. You can be waiting forever for that last 3 star cover you need.

On the one hand it's frustrating that the top fifty in pvp is suddenly unattainable for me, but on the bright side I've been getting a lot of stuff I've needed from all the extra cards they're awarding for pvp wins.

On buying covers, I have never done it, but Polarity's guide has some suggestions:

An exception to this are critical covers. A critical cover for a character is a cover that will significantly improve the characters power level. There aren't too many critical covers in this game, but buying the ones that will significantly boost your team power level can be a very good idea if you want to jump start progression. Examples include OBW 4 black (if your team has strike tiles), C Mags/Spidey 5 blue, GSBW 5 green, and maybe Hood 5 blue. Most other covers would give your team a marginal boost, and typically isn't worth the 10 bucks you'd spend on the cover.

Leee you are indeed 3* cover deprived. IM40 is fine with 1 yellow, and might be worth playing around with. Otherwise there's nothing worth bothering with.

Both Storms are worth leveling. That MagNow needs more purple covers to bother with. Ares gets outclassed by a bunch of 3* characters so I dunno if I'd bother.

I get leveling C Storm, but the wonkily specced MagNow and Ares? Especially 0 green Ares?

xp ok -- I don't get the awe that Ares seems to inspire. I don't tend to have much trouble when facing against him.

Obv level CStorm. I'd consider leveling Ares. I'm seeing him a lot in PvP lately and he always puts up a brutal fight. I generally win against him, playing with a three star team, but I have to heal quite a bit. Against two star teams he does very well. otoh you don't have any green covers, and that's his best color.

not sure about leveling yr MagNow: you only have one purple cover and that's his difference maker

Three more levels for Classic Mags to max at cover cap, then 13 more for hulk. Then Rags, Grey Widow and Loki
I'm pleased at my progression; in about a month or so i should have a maxed three star or possibly two and then I can die with dignity.

Maxed Ares is a beast, the second 5 Green triggers it's a minimum of 1200 dmg - if you can afford to wait till it hits 15 you've killed your opponent whoever it is. If you are running OBW then his yellow comes basically without penalty because you can heal up the loss without waiting on the countdown tile.

i am warming to heavy levelled meatshield hulk / max level steal and heal ogbw / max level tank ares
would still love to work in a black match benefit tho

it may be silly but I've been pumping ISO into Loki. I really want a blue IM40 cover; and Pun + Spidey + Loki is a fun rainbow team. you get off Illusions sorta for free since you're taking purple to trigger Spidey's shields, and the board rearrangement usually triggers some sick cascades.

gotta keep a 5k+ ISO-8 buffer just to feel comfortable boosting at will. Also I like having bigger reserves so I can opportunistically pump up featured characters a bit.

yeah I like a feeling of ~progress~ so I need new levels or new covers, something to keep up the feeling of "getting somewhere"

I'm at 90k ISO. Got nothing worthwhile to put it into. Wish I could stumble upon 4 black hulk covers.

I am really getting tired of the current (as of this morning, anyway) Oscorp Heroic mission.

I just do the three essential missions, which give a bunch of points, and skip the rest. prolly won't get a lazy daken card this way, but I've been behind all along. I agree that it's a pretty boring tourney.

I was doing fine for a while, staying in the Top 100, but it's been a super slog since we got stuck on this latest mission - about to fall out of the Top 200 now

hit my season 1 heroic 10-pack last night, featured a black panther (nice, but mine's still useless), steve rogers (meeeehhhh), and a hulk (...black cover... mine is at 5/0/5 missing red... felt like a slap in the face) and 7 more scrub cards. I was fairly disappointed.

so i finally got my second additional roster spot with 21 covers waiting, not sure who to take, if i should take a rarer card (only have 2-stars incl ares, original widow, classic storm, modern hawkeye, 2 bullseyes, 1 moonstone) or my 4 classic hawkeyes (i should've not sold him in the first place)

got my blue model 40 cover btw, so I now have him at 5-4-3, level 119. not sure how hard I'll ball in the model 40 tourney since the "prizes" are Ragitos and I dunno if I care enough. probably will try for top 50 as usual, if for no other reason than to take my buffed model 40 out to play

spidey nerf coming soon. really glad i've stopped using him except to heal in the prologue -- and i might even end up to switching to obw for healing there, given how poor his yellow now is.

daken was nerfed recently but he is still the best of those 3.

got a black lazy daken cover from the osborn tourney, yay I guess.

bummed about the spidey nerf since I have 5 blue covers. I hope (and expect) that CMags is going to get the nerfhammer soon too. they don't want any two ap abilities, and his purple is pretty nuts

otoh if they make this game unplayable without buying health packs then I'm outta here
