There's an abundance of killer 90s breakbeat for sale on hardwax at the moment - https://hardwax.com/collectors-items/. Not cheap though.

eg DBL - 2 Happy

paolo, Saturday, 8 November 2014 11:43 (nine years ago) link

Just out of curiosity, how many of you who buy house/techno vinyl actually go on discogs or wherever to get your hands on the oldies? I buy vinyl but for this stuff I mainly buy new material from my local record shop or boomkat. It's not often that I decide that I want a certain classic track or album and go hunt it down

paolo, Saturday, 8 November 2014 11:48 (nine years ago) link

Best deep house record ever? Its not even the best Ron Trent record with the word Morning in it:P

Where's your local record shop? As for Discogs....I spend far too much time on discogs, its the only place I can find most of the things I'm looking for (wishlist is still full of things that never seem to appear though)

saer, Saturday, 8 November 2014 12:57 (nine years ago) link

So what Ron Trent tunes are better? I don't know much of his stuff but that one is just gorgeous

And my local shop is Rubadub in Glasgow >>>>

paolo, Saturday, 8 November 2014 13:20 (nine years ago) link

I wasnt being entirely serious...its not a competition, and Morning Factory is a great record of course! (so many of his records are great though...nature of retribution, Morning Fever, pop dip & spin, space riddims), hit after hit after hit!

saer, Saturday, 8 November 2014 13:53 (nine years ago) link

^^Those tunes are sick

paolo, Saturday, 8 November 2014 18:29 (nine years ago) link

'Electroluv' by 4th Wave is great.

I vaguely remember reading Steve Paton was making new music, might of imagined it though, there's not much on discogs.

The Mo Wax connection is making me listen to this

Never heard of Soichi Terada before either. That 'Do it again' track samples British rapper 'Derek B', never heard that done before either.

Talking of house/techno from japan, this always sounds good
