shakes out differently from last year

It's kind of rare for any team to rise or fall more than three or four notches in their relative position in a single year. That can still translate to some significant shaking out when you apply it across the board.

Scapa Flow & Eddie (Aimless), Monday, 27 October 2014 05:22 (nine years ago) link

think cleveland might be better than three or four notches over last year

Clay, Monday, 27 October 2014 05:23 (nine years ago) link

well, yeah, but it's still a rarity

Scapa Flow & Eddie (Aimless), Monday, 27 October 2014 05:25 (nine years ago) link

nhex u crazy

no but seriously im not a dick like that (Spottie), Monday, 27 October 2014 05:26 (nine years ago) link

Russell MVP quest might be my favorite early season plot also the number of talking heads that will detonate when he goes 17 for 48 in a game will be awesome

z-time champion (agent hibachi), Monday, 27 October 2014 13:29 (nine years ago) link

Mario Chalmers' tenure as the Miami Heat starting point guard will come to an end when the 2014-15 regular season tips off. Chalmers has been in that spot since he came into the NBA in 2008, with the exception of 2010. Chalmers says he will focus on making sure he gets crunch-time minutes with the shift to a bench role.

"Of course you want to start, but you want to finish the game," Chalmers told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. "It's more about the minutes. At the same time, it's a mental thing."

Chalmers lost the starting spot to Norris Cole during the preseason. Ether way, head coach Erik Spoelstra expects both players to produce as each will get plenty of time on the floor.

"Regardless of whether who's the starter, who's not, those guys are going to be pivotal players, both Rio and Norris," he said. "They're going to have to play significant minutes for us."

lol forever at the heat point guard rotation

lag∞n, Monday, 27 October 2014 14:28 (nine years ago) link

how many teams have two better than their best one, or three even!

lag∞n, Monday, 27 October 2014 14:29 (nine years ago) link

mario chalmers is like the bugsey siegel (as portrayed on boardwalk empire, at least) of the heat mafia - occasionally he gets shit done but is really volatile and whiny about things and more or less just makes excuses when he screws up.

slothroprhymes, Monday, 27 October 2014 14:44 (nine years ago) link

if you cant beat norris cole out for the starting job... m8

lag∞n, Monday, 27 October 2014 15:37 (nine years ago) link

yeah that's a pretty good indicator of washedness. y'know, plus the whole "looking like a slapped ass in the postseason" thing.

blood on the peaves (slothroprhymes), Monday, 27 October 2014 15:54 (nine years ago) link

chalmers wld make a perfectly fine backup imho, problem is they have no starter

lag∞n, Monday, 27 October 2014 16:00 (nine years ago) link

weird they didnt try to upgrade that spot a lil so many good point guards in the league rn

is sully a boss now or something?

Clay, Monday, 27 October 2014 17:09 (nine years ago) link

He loosened his hams

, Monday, 27 October 2014 17:10 (nine years ago) link

sully is a good player mane thats why im constantly in a state of sorrow about how out of shape he is, he has allstar skills and the main thing holding him back is lack of athleticism which cld be solved by losing a lil fn weight gdamn it

lag∞n, Monday, 27 October 2014 17:11 (nine years ago) link

suprised woomeyp norris cole was held back for this long

call all destroyer, Monday, 27 October 2014 17:14 (nine years ago) link

after his freshman season sully was a consensus top 10 pick, then he stayed in college another year and injured his back which is why he went so low

lag∞n, Monday, 27 October 2014 17:15 (nine years ago) link

No I remember! It's just been a couple years and he hasn't dented my radar sense really, just surprised to see him cracking elite adv stats even if it's exhib

Clay, Monday, 27 October 2014 17:18 (nine years ago) link

i feel like "waiting for sully to be in shape" is going to be the new "waiting for rondo to learn to shoot" i.e. a train i need to get off of.

call all destroyer, Monday, 27 October 2014 17:18 (nine years ago) link

*since xp

Clay, Monday, 27 October 2014 17:18 (nine years ago) link

put up a 13 and 16 per his first two years, hes been good celtics were just terrible last year so no one noticed, and i mean its not liek he put up monster numbers but very solid certainly

lag∞n, Monday, 27 October 2014 17:23 (nine years ago) link

good trajectory

lag∞n, Monday, 27 October 2014 17:23 (nine years ago) link

i mean he did shoot super poorly last year but some of that has to do w the celtics having no good offensive players at all, also if he lost some weight he could get a lil more lift

Clay, Monday, 27 October 2014 17:31 (nine years ago) link

john wall is the best in the league at creating open 3pt attempts for his teammates btw

lag∞n, Monday, 27 October 2014 17:32 (nine years ago) link

he shd go to dc too imo f okc and their penny pinching terrible coach hiring cheating seattle out of a team ways

lag∞n, Monday, 27 October 2014 17:33 (nine years ago) link

he should make the wiz change their name back to the bullets a requirement of him signing tho

lag∞n, Monday, 27 October 2014 17:34 (nine years ago) link

Either that or make them change the name to the Washington Durantulas

, Monday, 27 October 2014 17:37 (nine years ago) link

the example of lbj going back to Cleveland surely has kd thinking about going to dc

Scapa Flow & Eddie (Aimless), Monday, 27 October 2014 17:38 (nine years ago) link

dc vs cleveland 2016 is going to be what we have lived for

Clay, Monday, 27 October 2014 17:39 (nine years ago) link

if okc wins a title i cld see that changing his mind but hes got to be out of there if they keep under performing, squandering his prime

lag∞n, Monday, 27 October 2014 17:42 (nine years ago) link

Going back to DC doesn't have the same resonance, it's not some hardscrabble ex-industrial town where there's gonna be a lone local baller hero

A hypernova (pl. hypernovae or hypernovas) is a type of supernova explosion with an energy substantially higher than that of standard supernovae.

Spottie, Friday, 9 January 2015 04:52 (nine years ago) link

awkwardly plowed his old ass into dame and knocked dame on his back, wasn't intentional but I'll take any excuse to yell at his washed kneeless ass

i'm tellin you it was kenard (slothroprhymes), Friday, 9 January 2015 04:53 (nine years ago) link

yeah it wasn't intentional but it was definitely reckless

Clay, Friday, 9 January 2015 04:55 (nine years ago) link
