i dunno what part Stedman's public indecency conviction played in the drop-off over here. i also felt that provincial thing at the time but looking back the ish is really that they're a pop group tinged with r'n'b rather than vice versa, so some sweet tunes but not much in the way of outright jams

They're a mid 80s Bucks Fizz, more a commercial entity than artistic.

I don't remember the indecency charge. I think they were over shortly after they declared bankruptcy.

Also between the bankruptcy and the indecency charge, Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation cam out, which was like this is how you do R&B flavoured pop, and more or less ended Five Star's chance at a comeback in that period.

I do quite like a lot of these, but I really like 'System Addict'
