The two Corben Creepy/Eerie Christmas stories that really stuck with me were the ones about the cruel orphanage and the murderer who dresses as Santa Claus. Both were really sad.

Something I find interesting about 70s horror comics is how sentimental they often were. Sometimes it worked in a really heartfelt way that was memorable, other times it went overboard.

weird I had no idea "Destiny" predated Gaiman's Sandman as a DC character

I was trying to remember what titles he hosted but I was wrong.

I liked the Charlton hosts way better (Winnie The Witch, Impy, Dr Graves, Mr Bones, Mr L Dedd and a few others), along with Uncle Creepy, Cousin Eerie and the EC hosts. I really love horror hosts. Dr Haunt and Dr Death were awesome too.

Awesome. The little insert of singing heads would make a great Shrinky-Dink or puffy sticker.

I remember a late 70s Justice League Christmas story where John Stewart was the Green Lantern because Hal Jordan slipped on soap on the shower. I'm pretty sure that's a real memory.

It's not even a yellow bar of soap!

I'm surprised Geoff Johns hasn't done a revisionist retelling of this incident in a 6-part miniseries explaining the soap represents Lather on the Emotional Spectrum.
