trying to figure that out. first track ("irresistible") is a big stomper like "centuries"

but i remember sort of disliking my first listen of save rock and roll so i'm just kinda making tentative judgments rn

"uma thurman" is referring to a v specific song and i don't know the title of it

"jet pack blues" !!!!!!!!

As long as there's nothing else as flavorless as "Centuries" or "Immortals" I will approve

so far nope, everything is a very distinct flavor

thrilling to the chorus of "novocaine"

just thrilling

it does a lot of things in a very small space

closer better live up to its title

incidentally SRNR had my personal highest hit:miss rato of any FOB album, which I suspect I'm alone on

man, nonstop massive choruses on this record so far

so far this is sort of like a continuation of save rock and roll but the songs are just exploding out of themselves

"favorite record" is the false crj jam of this one

"immortals" just started and bummed me out

For such a blatant pop act they really are terribly represented by their singles (esp. lately)

i like a lot of things it's doing but i really think it's the ugly "imorrrrhorrrr-immortahls" in the second half of the chorus that sinks it for me

lotta stuff happening in that final track

pretty much all of it great

I agree almost 100 percent actually - last time I listened I was like "are only the odd numbered tracks good on this?"

on first spin "The Kids Aren't Alright" sounds like the towering standout, though I like the "Pastime Paradise"ish outro on "Twin Skeletons." definitely their most streamlined record, not sure if that's a good thng or not yet

really bombastic but in a way that seems much more...confident than SRAR. like they know definitely what type of band they want to be now, which i don't necessarily think was the case with comeback FOB v 1.0 on the last record.

irresistible has such swagger to it!

the leak is kinda terrible quality which normally doesn't bother me much but i imagine this album in particular will sound fuller w/ higher quality files?
