yeah, he was responding to an article about how the enlightenment has been and should be performed (particularly critically in western society) and was mocking the poster of that article for backpatting himself for posting a link as tho that put him in company w/ some kind of enlightenment ideal.

i think his lack of moral superiority is something of a rarity here

it's true that at the moment I can't recall him staking out a position on anything beyond "you are stupid and I am smarter than you" (which tbf I think can be interpreted as implying a moral system that prizes intellectual superiority above all - a questionable value imo - but idk if I care enough to get into this)

I think if there's one overarching fallacy of the butthurt round here (not just wrt nakh) it's this idea that criticism of others' shortcomings necessarily implies a superiority complex on the part of the critic, I don't think I'm especially smart but I think I'm smarter than people I think are stupid, this is true of everyone
