Truth be told, the only reason I have a RYM account is because it won't let you sort by negative reviews/date without one.

The whole "RYM community" thing doesn't really interest me (I took a glance and decided it wasn't for me), but then again ILE doesn't really interest me either, which is why I seldom post there.

The "community" aspect of most websites is weird to me, like there are boards on the spotify or mubi or whatever fora that have nothing to do with tech support, just people shooting the shit

Like do ppl sign up to post "I can't log into my account!!" topic and just stick around to post what they're up to at the weekend

It's nothing more than yet another excuse for cynical, jaded, tedious bellends that possess about as much depth as a puddle of piss and as much personality and charm as a leaking cesspit to (in the absence of anything worthwhile to contribute) snark, zing, bitch in order to comfort themselves and fill some sort of hole that seems to exist in their shallow, pathetic little lives. Basically.

I dunno, I enjoy talking about music on ILM a great deal and think there's some great, knowledgeable people on ILM. The snarky/bitchy side of the boards is tedious, though. It's a side I've often noticed at times, mostly from the same set of people and most of the time turned a blind eye to because I'd much prefer to talk about music and I'd prefer not to get involved with anything beyond that.
