wait, why the asterisk on perfect season, slothroprhymes? because undefeated doesn't necessarily = perfect, or some other reason?

also, many xposts: Self does not work for a tier 2 program.

1: UK, KU, UNC, Duke
2: UCONN, Arizona, Mich St, UCLA, Syracuse, Louisville, Indiana (?), who'd I miss?
3: Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, OK now we're just getting into massive state schools where football is king, plus Gonzaga and G-Town

alpine static, Tuesday, 31 March 2015 06:12 (nine years ago) link

He gave you the asterisk bc Pat dunked on you with whiskers most unkept

Team Foxcatcherwatcher (Sufjan Grafton), Tuesday, 31 March 2015 06:16 (nine years ago) link

I'd say ucla, IU, and uconn are tier 1 as well

Team Foxcatcherwatcher (Sufjan Grafton), Tuesday, 31 March 2015 06:20 (nine years ago) link

and prbly Louisville

Team Foxcatcherwatcher (Sufjan Grafton), Tuesday, 31 March 2015 06:20 (nine years ago) link

if KU is anyway

Team Foxcatcherwatcher (Sufjan Grafton), Tuesday, 31 March 2015 06:21 (nine years ago) link

haha, fair enough on the whisker-slam *

alpine static, Tuesday, 31 March 2015 06:28 (nine years ago) link

I was looking at where the recent mcdonald's all americans are signing, and it is mostly the schools you listed as tier 1 + UCLA tbh.

kinda weird that UCLA isn't better

Team Foxcatcherwatcher (Sufjan Grafton), Tuesday, 31 March 2015 06:42 (nine years ago) link

weird history of great recruiting/awful coaching dating back like 15 years

lag∞n, Tuesday, 31 March 2015 06:54 (nine years ago) link

i guess its like not that weird if u think abt it

lag∞n, Tuesday, 31 March 2015 06:54 (nine years ago) link

but how can coaching be that awful. it just doesn't seem possible.

my guess ucla atracts top recruits cause it is cool in l.a. etc, has a bad program that attracts bad coaches and is generally bad

lag∞n, Tuesday, 31 March 2015 07:14 (nine years ago) link

i mean if u cant win with kevin love and russ westb theres prob not much hope for u

lag∞n, Tuesday, 31 March 2015 07:15 (nine years ago) link

haha, fair enough on the whisker-slam *

lol yea I was concurring with dayo's original statement about not respecting them bc of the brutal connaughton dunk, their perfection is pretty indisputable otherwise

are... are you saying you fucked a gazelle? (slothroprhymes), Tuesday, 31 March 2015 12:30 (nine years ago) link

UCLA's pedigree as a hoops school in recent years stems almost entirely from producing famous/great NBA players afaict, but hey at least they're not USC's basketball team that has been repeatedly sub-.500 recently and cursed the NBA with nick fucking young

did bob knight once assault a pizza hut employee for not refilling the salad bar fast enough? or did I just imagine that?

you can tell when he's been around peanuts

polyphonic, Thursday, 2 April 2015 19:45 (nine years ago) link

lag∞n, Thursday, 2 April 2015 20:19 (nine years ago) link

xxp yes! but my dad was telling me about it at a pizza hut

terry bogard def assaulted geese howard in that pizza hut

every time i visited

"kinda weird that UCLA isn't better"

Howland had a couple classes of recruits with some idiots that kind of sunk him. Of course going to three Final Fours in a row is impressive, but not at UCLA if you don't win it all. Winning the NCAA tournament is just not that easy to do, the guy came pretty close and ran into Florida's buzz saw. That Florida club was pretty loaded with Noah, Al Horford and Corey Brewer.

Sounds like Texas is going to open up their Uncle Scrooge vault and try to buy Shaka out of VCU. Smart has been able to turn down everyone so far, but Texas will blow money like crazy. I've always kind of thought of Rick Barnes as a pretty good coach, I just think that Texas is probably not the best state to recruit b-ball players.

I guess you guys don't give a shit about the NIT, cuz it's not the NCAA? Anyway Stanford beat Miami in OT in the final last night.

My dad usta take teenage me to the NIT. His voice really carried at the Garden, and the two things he would yell were "GET IN THE GAME, REF" and then, in the 4th quarter, "FOUL HIM, FOUL HIM, FOUL HIM!"

i enjoyed the year that north carolina went to the NIT final and lost. and that they had to host their first-round game at the old carmichael gym rather than the dean dome

yr dad otm

mookieproof, Friday, 3 April 2015 16:05 (nine years ago) link

I like the NIT, but my attention tends to be absorbed by whichever tournament my team is in. Dr., did you catch any Big East tourney's while the conference was in its prime? The Big East 30 for 30 is great.

I don't remember. Probably went to 6-8 college games in the '70s, one or two Knicks.

Jeff, Saturday, 4 April 2015 23:19 (nine years ago) link

circles, Saturday, 4 April 2015 23:25 (nine years ago) link

circles, Saturday, 4 April 2015 23:27 (nine years ago) link

Michigan state exposed. Turns out they are Michigan State.

I switched to the sling tnt stream and it's better. Tbs was unwatchable.

Jeff, Saturday, 4 April 2015 23:35 (nine years ago) link

Jeff, Saturday, 4 April 2015 23:36 (nine years ago) link

johnny crunch, Saturday, 4 April 2015 23:39 (nine years ago) link
