they're doing some sort of showcase at this festival in boulder, colorado. thought about going. charles cohen also playing.

i am so shit abt following new releases, 2013 was pretty much the last year i was keeping up and completely fell off the wagon over the past year in favor of diving into artist discogs

I keep up on nothing, I think my listening is pretty much concentrated on a few things, then I see some other things live and fall into those

I dont keep up with anything, only what i find in the woods

that remix of model 500 is ok nowhere near the original or maurizio mix

i think the whole remix album is wonderful, maybe the best deepchord thing outside of the linkwood "miles away" remixes.

ekoplekz not my thing at all.. i'd be down to listen to some ilm-er curated best-of, though.

that elemental quality of basic channel is exactly what makes them so endlessly listenable

Raime's new album is very good. It's by no means dance music but it reminds me a lot of the most stripped back dread UK dance tracks of the last 25 years

Artists like D1, Jon E Cash, Shackleton etc

I wasn't incredibly into it but saw them live, loud, and it grew on me

New Kaumwald EP is pretty cool, definitely Opal Tapes-appropriate (scudding beats, uneasy ambiance, lots of subtle weird touches you only notice on headphones)

I like Grebenstein. I'm not too sure about this new Raime, though, it sounds like a tribute to Photek circa The Hidden Camera. In fact it just makes me want to listen to The Hidden Camera.

It's one of those albums where every track sounds the same but in a good way

I loved the EPs & Quarter Turn to distraction, but somehow didn't engage with Tooth. I need to go back to it.

I think I posted this Rorqual album on another thread, but it's probably worth sharing here for it's creeping, oozy ambience with occasional leaden beats.

this tv show on TNT, Good Behavior, keeps using Raime music as ominous soundtrack music and it’s passed cognitive dissonance into nodding to dark grooves

Listening to old Hecate EPs and when she wasn't going 300 bpm breakcore she kinda had a proto-this-thread thing happening. On "The Payback" w/Kareem the track "Medusal" has that clanging drums and dubby reverb thing happening.

There's a lot of stuff on Kareem's Zhark label worth checking out, actually, if you like crunchy beats, dark ambient or harder industrial techno.

xp Quarter Turns was so good. Lately I've been listening to a lot of Carla dal Forno and the most recent Bremen album. And they reissued that Caroline K album a while back. I'm one of the few people who liked Jabu I guess.
