Is this the first time an unabashed character queen has been eliminated in Snatch Game?

Eric H., Wednesday, 15 April 2015 04:08 (nine years ago) link

Honestly, tho, the only two they could even conceivably bring back next week are Milk Max or Trixie.

Eric H., Wednesday, 15 April 2015 04:09 (nine years ago) link

i think it's p obviously Trixie considering she like unianimously won the lip sync and got sent home anyway

gybe horses (Stevie D(eux)), Wednesday, 15 April 2015 04:21 (nine years ago) link

Yeah gotta be Trixie.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 15 April 2015 04:45 (nine years ago) link

I hope it's Trixie.

difficult-difficult lemon-difficult (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 15 April 2015 05:58 (nine years ago) link

Max seems layers upon layers of artifice, and the covert bitchiness in contrast to the nice as pie persona just offputting to me. The more of her I saw in Untucked the less I liked

Fame & Katya was a lovely moment

difficult-difficult lemon-difficult (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 15 April 2015 06:00 (nine years ago) link

Also, the condragulations tie? I could think of many other snatch games that merited two winners more than this one, which Kennedy basically ran away with.

Eric H., Wednesday, 15 April 2015 12:11 (nine years ago) link

Yeah that was weird. I also thought Dela, Adore, and Bianca could've shared the win last year then.

LeRooLeRoo, Thursday, 16 April 2015 00:55 (nine years ago) link

who's coming back though?

gwyneth anger (patron sailor), Thursday, 16 April 2015 01:54 (nine years ago) link

How will they decide who gets to come back? Last time it happened I think it was Michelle who chose and she brought back Kenya Michaels.

LeRooLeRoo, Thursday, 16 April 2015 02:25 (nine years ago) link

who knows! if i had to guess its whoever draws the most viewers. could it be anyone but trixie? i dont see anyone begging for more mrs. kasha davis, tho it might be candy i suppose.

gwyneth anger (patron sailor), Thursday, 16 April 2015 02:35 (nine years ago) link

LaGanja old hollywood style, p much

i never liked max and this is a great burn

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 April 2015 03:43 (nine years ago) link

max failing miserably at doing sharon was a perfect encapsulation of her specific mediocrity

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 April 2015 03:43 (nine years ago) link

i guess i'd like to see kasha davis come back. the mom thing won me over in the end. if not her then i guess jasmine

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 April 2015 03:47 (nine years ago) link

i thought max was great early on but idk, "there's no there there"

difficult-difficult lemon-difficult (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 16 April 2015 03:53 (nine years ago) link

for sure

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 April 2015 03:53 (nine years ago) link

she's the kind of queen that makes you appreciate the true weirdo queens

the fact that she seems like a huge stick in the mud outside of drag was probably a sign

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 April 2015 03:55 (nine years ago) link

otm

difficult-difficult lemon-difficult (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 16 April 2015 03:59 (nine years ago) link

my fave drag queens are at least as interesting irl out of drag as their characters

difficult-difficult lemon-difficult (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 16 April 2015 03:59 (nine years ago) link

it's gotta be more than striking a pose

difficult-difficult lemon-difficult (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 16 April 2015 04:00 (nine years ago) link

I don't know, I agree his Snatch Game was awful but I thought Max was mostly great up until that.

And apparently his weird singing stunt was just really mean editing to make her look like a fool: https://twitter.com/MAXcollective/status/587814514231484416

LeRooLeRoo, Thursday, 16 April 2015 04:14 (nine years ago) link

Sorry his/her

Raja and Raven not too impressed this week. I loved Violet!

LeRooLeRoo, Thursday, 16 April 2015 04:45 (nine years ago) link

i wanted to like max because her runway looks were always so polished and specific, always high-concept without sacrificing glamour. i even admired the dedication to the grey hair. i dunno, there was a level of exacting control and tenacity that really benefited her style, but it turns out those same qualities made for an extremely stiff and mannered personality. i was hoping she'd stick around long enough to expel the cork from her ass. oh well.

gwyneth anger (patron sailor), Thursday, 16 April 2015 13:35 (nine years ago) link

i'm calling katya for top 3 now, btw.

gwyneth anger (patron sailor), Thursday, 16 April 2015 13:40 (nine years ago) link

Ginger and Katya are pretty seemingly locks. Third is a wild card between the three drop dead gorgeous skinny bitches.

Eric H., Thursday, 16 April 2015 13:45 (nine years ago) link

i would like to see ginger katya and kennedy in the final 3 but ru has always showed a crippling weakness for pretty/pretty boring queens so i'm sure violet will worm her way in there

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 April 2015 14:16 (nine years ago) link

Other examples?

Eric H., Thursday, 16 April 2015 14:22 (nine years ago) link

(Also, Kennedy has had exactly one good week.)

Eric H., Thursday, 16 April 2015 14:22 (nine years ago) link

tyra, phiphi, & courtney all spring to mind for pretty/boring top 3 contestants

also tatianna but she was top 4

gwyneth anger (patron sailor), Thursday, 16 April 2015 14:29 (nine years ago) link

Tyra and PhiPhi were def more pageant than glamour imo, but it's a fine line.

Eric H., Thursday, 16 April 2015 14:33 (nine years ago) link

wtf is the diff btwn pageant and glamour?

gybe horses (Stevie D(eux)), Thursday, 16 April 2015 23:15 (nine years ago) link

like does pageant have a slightly self-aware element of like campy performativity where glamour is just STUNNING FLAWLESS FISH or whatever?

gybe horses (Stevie D(eux)), Thursday, 16 April 2015 23:16 (nine years ago) link

Pageant means they look better in drag. Glamour means they're sickening as both a boy and a girl.

Eric H., Thursday, 16 April 2015 23:58 (nine years ago) link

Pageant usually also means "runway + lipsync and that is IT" plus big hair & GOWNS - glamour is kinda more high-fashiony

difficult-difficult lemon-difficult (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 17 April 2015 01:54 (nine years ago) link

and glamour queens often dont really lipsync or anything, they just kinda look amazing

difficult-difficult lemon-difficult (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 17 April 2015 01:55 (nine years ago) link

I know Ginger IRL. she is one of the most talented performers in O-Town, and I performed in Grease with her back in 2002. She was a phenomenal Tobias in Sweeney Todd too back in about 2005. Both her and her husband are very sweet, loving individuals.

obviously biased as Hell but hoping Ginger wins. gotta catch up on several eps.

Hammer Smashed Bagels, Saturday, 18 April 2015 20:08 (nine years ago) link

very cool!

difficult-difficult lemon-difficult (VegemiteGrrl), Saturday, 18 April 2015 21:28 (nine years ago) link

Nice! What role did she play in Grease ?

LeRooLeRoo, Saturday, 18 April 2015 22:31 (nine years ago) link

Doody (ie, "Those Magic Changes"). She also choreographed the show. fantastic singer. had also played the Emcee in Cabaret as a young teen. ridiculously talented. Orlando theatre community is going nuts over this at the moment, and naturally of course Ginger can't spill the results. :) not that anybody would want it ruined.

Hammer Smashed Bagels, Sunday, 19 April 2015 05:17 (nine years ago) link

Yeah, I think this season we finally get a big-girl winner.

Eric H., Sunday, 19 April 2015 05:23 (nine years ago) link

Well that was an unexpected twist for the episode and show. Not the ending, that was a hair too preordained (would have gone for Katya/Kasha to win, but it was close, while Ginger wasn't going to go, period).

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 21 April 2015 05:05 (nine years ago) link

Best episode of the season so far I thought.
From Latrice MF Royale to the mini challenge, to the twist, the runway, and the lypsynch. Very entertaining.

LeRooLeRoo, Tuesday, 21 April 2015 20:56 (nine years ago) link

Yeah I loved Latrice! What a perfect cameo!

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 00:43 (nine years ago) link

Not only probably the best ep of the season so far, but the best Untucked too, from what I've seen. Like Robert Altman came back from the grave to restage Paris is Burning.

Eric H., Wednesday, 22 April 2015 04:14 (nine years ago) link

Felt a little bad for Tempest tho, being the first sent home and now this.

Eric H., Wednesday, 22 April 2015 04:15 (nine years ago) link

Katya's description of the lip sync ... OMG.

Eric H., Wednesday, 22 April 2015 04:16 (nine years ago) link

would have gone for Katya/Kasha to win

Really? Even given Kasha's umpteenth boxed wine gag?

PS Kennedy seems to love trade almost as much as Kasha loves boxed wine.

A-Hanisi Coates (Leee), Wednesday, 22 April 2015 04:46 (nine years ago) link

Think you misspelled "shade" there.
