he's a candidate but missed a lot of time and kinda played the first half of the season in a low gear xp

Clay, Thursday, 16 April 2015 06:25 (nine years ago) link

when do they announce this stuff? if it's mid-playoff i could see him putting together a few games that could sway people over

Premise ridiculous. Who have two potato? (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 16 April 2015 06:26 (nine years ago) link

balls, Thursday, 16 April 2015 06:27 (nine years ago) link

Clay, Thursday, 16 April 2015 06:28 (nine years ago) link

wonder if brow made a late push. won't win but maybe 3rd or 4th?

balls, Thursday, 16 April 2015 06:29 (nine years ago) link

Xp ah never mind

Premise ridiculous. Who have two potato? (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 16 April 2015 06:31 (nine years ago) link

winners will probably leak by the weekend if memory serves? I can't really remember exactly when woj gets his hands on the envelopes.

Clay, Thursday, 16 April 2015 06:36 (nine years ago) link

ugh mods plz delete all gobert baiting posts, not bc my mind is changed but that was a dumb (read:drunk) way to argue

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 16 April 2015 12:52 (nine years ago) link

and my dislike for the french jazzman is not that strong in the light of day

6MAN it

lag∞n, Thursday, 16 April 2015 13:50 (nine years ago) link

MVP - chef curry
DPOY - bogut
ROTY - wiggins
COTY - brother brad stevens
MIP - jimmy buckets
6 man/god - isaiah

would've picked mirotic for ROTY if thibs gave him more minutes but wiggins was a starter in most games & really rose to the occasion even in (many, many) losses
my COTY pick is 100% homer, obvs it will go to kerr/bud there's too much momentum behind both those guys

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 16 April 2015 14:00 (nine years ago) link

brad is totally worthy

lag∞n, Thursday, 16 April 2015 14:10 (nine years ago) link

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 16 April 2015 20:58 (nine years ago) link

my predix for actual awards, i don't even know if i have personal opinions anymore, i am engorged by The Narratives

mvp: curry
dpoy: green
mip: butler
roy: wiggins
coy: kerr
exec: griffin

Clay, Thursday, 16 April 2015 21:01 (nine years ago) link

I'm pretty conflicted about ROY because Noel, Wiggins and Mirotic were in very different situations and all three have warts. I honestly don't know who was the best per se.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 16 April 2015 21:22 (nine years ago) link

Exec of the year is probably Ainge, unless you think it's an award that should be for years of work.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 16 April 2015 21:23 (nine years ago) link

i'd lean toward most exciting rookie and most likely to develop into a star and those are both wiggins for me

balls, Thursday, 16 April 2015 21:25 (nine years ago) link

It's pretty crazy how good mirotic was without shooting well, he might be the best player on the Bulls in 2 years.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 16 April 2015 21:26 (nine years ago) link

we have our first winner - lou will is 6 man of the year just as drake predicted

slothroprhymes, Monday, 20 April 2015 16:18 (nine years ago) link

shd change the name of the mvp award to "1st man"

lag∞n, Monday, 20 April 2015 16:30 (nine years ago) link

Brian Robb ‏@CelticsHub 13m13 minutes ago
Brad Stevens finished 4th in coach of the year voting and receives two first-place votes. Mike Budenholzer edges out Steve Kerr for win.

lag∞n, Tuesday, 21 April 2015 14:23 (nine years ago) link

Jaryd Hawks ‏@JarydWilson 35m35 minutes ago
The Hawks organization, upon finding out from NBA about the award, called Popovich to ask him if he wanted to break the news to Bud. He did.

slothroprhymes, Tuesday, 21 April 2015 19:02 (nine years ago) link

aw that's super cool

k3vin k., Tuesday, 21 April 2015 19:04 (nine years ago) link

nice

lag∞n, Tuesday, 21 April 2015 19:08 (nine years ago) link

gotta say I did not quite expect kawhi DPOY given the time he missed but he deserves it

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 23 April 2015 14:07 (nine years ago) link

Diamond Leung ‏@diamond83 45s45 seconds ago
Celtics broadcaster Tommy Heinsohn left Steve Kerr and Draymond Green off his ballots along with Kawhi Leonard.

B-)

lag∞n, Thursday, 23 April 2015 15:37 (nine years ago) link

Marcus Thompson ‏@ThompsonScribe 40m40 minutes ago
The real difference: Green did not receive a vote on 42 ballots. Leonard was left off 26 ballots

its weird there was like almost no buzz for any dpoy candidate this year, kawhi kinda won by default

lag∞n, Thursday, 23 April 2015 15:40 (nine years ago) link

but hey congrats i guess or w/e

lag∞n, Thursday, 23 April 2015 15:40 (nine years ago) link

jk obvs he is a super elite defender tho winning while missing so much time and also playing at half speed some of the time is kinda a sus proposition for an award

lag∞n, Thursday, 23 April 2015 15:41 (nine years ago) link

idk really who shd get it tho bogut is great but he missed almost as many games as kawhi

lag∞n, Thursday, 23 April 2015 15:44 (nine years ago) link

no one was really out there terrorizing the league on a nightly basis

lag∞n, Thursday, 23 April 2015 15:45 (nine years ago) link

boguts and draymonds probably split votes? kinda crazy to have two top 3-5 dpoy candidates on the same starring five.

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 23 April 2015 15:45 (nine years ago) link

yeah dubs line up is murderous

lag∞n, Thursday, 23 April 2015 15:46 (nine years ago) link

then iggy coming off the bench. when they play curry/klay/iggs/dray/bogut its just too much. curry can just roam the lanes looking for steals

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 23 April 2015 15:49 (nine years ago) link

seems like barnes is good too

lag∞n, Thursday, 23 April 2015 15:51 (nine years ago) link

yeh hes solid but he's not iggy

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 23 April 2015 15:52 (nine years ago) link

ya the ig dawg is disruptive

lag∞n, Thursday, 23 April 2015 15:53 (nine years ago) link

lag∞n, Thursday, 23 April 2015 15:57 (nine years ago) link

Ha there's so obviously a Houston dude whose ballot went dray or kawhi 1 and 2 then Ariza Beverley and probably Dwight 3-4-5

good perspective there, dray

Giant Purple Wakerobin (Aimless), Friday, 24 April 2015 05:49 (nine years ago) link

only one all-nba player didn't make the playoffs this year (cousins), agree it's a lagging indicator at best

brimstead, Friday, 22 May 2015 05:47 (eight years ago) link

good all-NBA squads. DAJ kind of lucked out that there are no good 2-way centers tho

― k3vin k., Thursday, May 21, 2015 6:31 PM (2 hours ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

DeAndre is a good 2 way center, as are the two guys above him.

― Matt Armstrong, Thursday, May 21, 2015 6:07 PM (Yesterday) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

well i meant other than those guys. in 5 years we'll probably look back and see him as a pretty uninspired choice. it's just dumb that there are probably 5 more forwards who deserve this recognition before DAJ or any other center

k3vin k., Friday, 22 May 2015 11:57 (eight years ago) link

All-NBA teams were announced.
4 of the 5 players on the 1st team, and
4 of the 5 players on the 2nd team, and
4 of the 5 players on the 3rd team play in the Western Conference.

Aimless, Friday, 22 May 2015 16:58 (eight years ago) link
