Hey guys, remember when Roy Hibbert was good?

i definitely remember when he was the gobert/sanders of years past, yeah

k3vin k., Thursday, 16 April 2015 20:31 (nine years ago) link

haha

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 16 April 2015 20:39 (nine years ago) link

Sometimes players get worse yeah

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 16 April 2015 20:42 (nine years ago) link

Btw that was a really impressive performance by Gallo, he scored on draymond one on one like it was nbd

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 16 April 2015 20:42 (nine years ago) link

hibberts collapse last year was monumental. he was so shook for so long

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 16 April 2015 20:42 (nine years ago) link

Hibbert is an odd duck, a total overachiever who is also a headcase is a rare combo

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 16 April 2015 20:45 (nine years ago) link

feel like a lot of what was attributed to hibbert was just great pacers team D

lag∞n, Thursday, 16 April 2015 20:46 (nine years ago) link

He should've stuck with Parks & Recs.

A-Hanisi Coates (Leee), Thursday, 16 April 2015 20:47 (nine years ago) link

Yeah I think that's possibly true. He's VERY slow and they did a great job funneling people to him. But what he did do in that situation was still good.

Hibbert is a D+/C- NBA athlete who somehow figured out a way to be really good for a while.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 16 April 2015 20:53 (nine years ago) link

i remember for a while he was hitting what seemed like a ton of really weird impossible shots too, then he flipped a switch to not being able to make a simple layup or 3 foot hook

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 16 April 2015 20:57 (nine years ago) link

He definitely got the yips and we won't know why until Paul George writes an autobio or something

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 16 April 2015 20:59 (nine years ago) link

he's still the master of going straight up on d tho

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 16 April 2015 21:00 (nine years ago) link

He's still a good defender, with all the new revenue that contract isn't so bad

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 16 April 2015 21:03 (nine years ago) link

hibbert def seemed like a plus player to me even though his offense was weirdly bad given his size

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 April 2015 21:33 (nine years ago) link

i say seemed cuz i won't pretend to have watched more than 5 minutes of the pacers this year

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 April 2015 21:33 (nine years ago) link

haha otm, that 2ot game was the first time I've really watched them this year and we don't have compupost to keep us updated on them anymore

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 16 April 2015 21:34 (nine years ago) link

we won't know why until Paul George writes an autobio or something

wasn't the rumor that hibbert's wife cheated on him...with PG :/

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 16 April 2015 21:39 (nine years ago) link

i mean thats a pretty surefire way to utterly destroy the mental constitution of a teammate, KG practically broke carmelo anthony's brain in half with honeynutgate

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 16 April 2015 21:40 (nine years ago) link

i remember hearing that rodman caught vinnie johnson fucking his wife and it turned him into the rodman we know today*

* circa 1996

balls, Thursday, 16 April 2015 21:45 (nine years ago) link

It's pretty crazy how good mirotic was without shooting well, he might be the best player on the Bulls in 2 years.

i remember hearing that rodman caught vinnie johnson fucking his wife and it turned him into the rodman we know today*

* circa 1996

He was contemplating suicide in Detroit and understandably has never really fully elaborated why.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 16 April 2015 21:52 (nine years ago) link

Letting his freak flag fly was good for us and him and America

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 16 April 2015 21:52 (nine years ago) link

o definitely

balls, Thursday, 16 April 2015 22:24 (nine years ago) link

not to mention north korea

k3vin k., Thursday, 16 April 2015 22:45 (nine years ago) link

I won't front I loved crazy 90s Dennis Rodman

juice college (agent hibachi), Friday, 17 April 2015 00:19 (nine years ago) link

"OKC eliminated" and "Westbrook scoring champ" as back to back notifications within five minutes from the NBA app was p incredible

I'm weirdly already a little sad that we prob won't have Scott brooks to kick around next year, we might have to pile on Monty w if he survives

juice college (agent hibachi), Friday, 17 April 2015 00:22 (nine years ago) link

Brooks and his amazing intelligent eyewear will land a job elsewhere, but OKC will still have a wretched front office.

A-Hanisi Coates (Leee), Friday, 17 April 2015 00:31 (nine years ago) link

wait was he a republican or are you or were you at that time

slothroprhymes, Friday, 17 April 2015 00:34 (nine years ago) link

I stopped being a Spurs fan when they traded Rodman and will not return until the flopping Frenchman is gone

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 17 April 2015 00:36 (nine years ago) link

I was (though not really)!

A-Hanisi Coates (Leee), Friday, 17 April 2015 00:38 (nine years ago) link

no rush

brosario nawson (m bison), Friday, 17 April 2015 02:54 (nine years ago) link

you have debased yourself, m bise. Debased yourself with Bruce Bowen, the flopping Francoadulterer. I remain pure.

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 17 April 2015 03:15 (nine years ago) link

you wager literal thousands of dollars on professional sporting events

brosario nawson (m bison), Friday, 17 April 2015 04:10 (nine years ago) link

nah, 100 a day

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 17 April 2015 05:41 (nine years ago) link

hopefully some day tho, go with 10% of the bankroll for now

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 17 April 2015 05:42 (nine years ago) link

is this years cavs team weaker than last years heat?

micah, Friday, 17 April 2015 13:20 (nine years ago) link

weaker as in "less of a playoffs threat"

micah, Friday, 17 April 2015 13:20 (nine years ago) link

ya

lag∞n, Friday, 17 April 2015 13:39 (nine years ago) link

uh, no. the cavs do not start mario chalmers, for one.

slothroprhymes, Friday, 17 April 2015 13:48 (nine years ago) link

a very comprehensive argument for sure but just one question are u referring to the mario chalmers they won back2back rings with

lag∞n, Friday, 17 April 2015 14:08 (nine years ago) link

chalmers was to the heat success as the NASA logo painted on the side of the shuttle was to space travel

head clowning instructor (art), Friday, 17 April 2015 14:12 (nine years ago) link

chalmers was to the heat success as the NASA logo painted on the side of the shuttle was to space travel

lag∞n, Friday, 17 April 2015 14:14 (nine years ago) link

anyway big picture folks basketball is a team sport

lag∞n, Friday, 17 April 2015 14:15 (nine years ago) link

whoever said the argument was comprehensive?

in all seriousness i think the cavs starting five in the past few months is a bit stronger than the heat's last year although if wade's knees had not been about to inevitably collapse at that time, that might not be true, both the heat's bench last year and the cavs bench this year have some issues to say the least

slothroprhymes, Friday, 17 April 2015 14:25 (nine years ago) link

there seems to be some time dysmorphia in that analysis

lag∞n, Friday, 17 April 2015 14:29 (nine years ago) link

sigh

i spose the cavs starting 5 has the issue of kevin love's misuse/potential yips/back pain to deal with
