wrote a novel waiting for the thread to reload

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 18 November 2005 07:42 (eighteen years ago) link

i lived my entire life, died, was reincarnated as myself, died again, was reincarnated for myself as a third time (how unlucky can you get?) and ate a slap-up tea in the time it took me to think of this deeply unfunny response.

seriously: i can live with waiting for the thread to open. it adds to the anticipation. but if glasgow is borking ILX, even slightly, that would be a bad thing. however, i have no idea whether it is or not.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Friday, 18 November 2005 11:44 (eighteen years ago) link

I started reciting the value of pi and REACHED THE END before this thread loaded.

Patience is a rare commodity these days, this thread allows us to relearn waiting.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Friday, 18 November 2005 11:52 (eighteen years ago) link

I saw continents boil into the oceans and nameless horrors swoop over the earth by the light of dying suns while this thread loaded.

alext (alext), Friday, 18 November 2005 12:22 (eighteen years ago) link

this thread is useful

RJG (RJG), Friday, 18 November 2005 12:47 (eighteen years ago) link

If a new thread is started, I really would like Glasgow to have a capital letter at the beginning.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Friday, 18 November 2005 12:58 (eighteen years ago) link

Indie I Spy is a missed opportunity, I think. No places, no non-performers, no questions.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Friday, 18 November 2005 13:05 (eighteen years ago) link

glasgow doesn't need a capital!

RJG (RJG), Friday, 18 November 2005 13:23 (eighteen years ago) link

and the capital doesn't need Glasgow!!!

alext (alext), Friday, 18 November 2005 13:25 (eighteen years ago) link

bingo!

RJG (RJG), Friday, 18 November 2005 13:26 (eighteen years ago) link

i have looked at this thread, once or twice, and had no trouble with it loading.

Theorry Henry (Enrique), Friday, 18 November 2005 13:28 (eighteen years ago) link

yes, it loads pretty instantaneously for me, too

RJG (RJG), Friday, 18 November 2005 13:29 (eighteen years ago) link

you'd assume someone would have said something by now if this massive thread was fucking shit up elsewhere, wouldn't you?

i vote we KEEP THE THREAD ALIVE FOR EVER.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Friday, 18 November 2005 14:28 (eighteen years ago) link

It'll have to be alive for infinity. I just watched the heat death of the universe waiting for it to load.

stet (stet), Friday, 18 November 2005 14:56 (eighteen years ago) link

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Friday, 18 November 2005 17:28 (eighteen years ago) link

Stet - I can sort you out re: cobalt with Irene's private number. Or the other one's, if you're that way inclined. She has "a chair" in another salon.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 18 November 2005 17:35 (eighteen years ago) link

Who's harder -- Chr1s or Madch3n? Because one of them is going to murder me ...

xpost: is she the Kiwi?

stet (stet), Friday, 18 November 2005 17:35 (eighteen years ago) link

Irene's Scottish. The other one has crazy hair and I didn't think she was a Kiwi but maybe. RJG will know.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 18 November 2005 17:39 (eighteen years ago) link

she sounded like it

RJG (RJG), Friday, 18 November 2005 18:09 (eighteen years ago) link

There will be no new thread.

Ally C (Ally C), Friday, 18 November 2005 18:18 (eighteen years ago) link

Look out Glasgow, we are being spied!

Cathy (Cathy), Friday, 18 November 2005 18:19 (eighteen years ago) link

CHR1S G1LMOUR, YES. BORING.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 18 November 2005 18:32 (eighteen years ago) link

Boring, but happy

Chris Gilmo (illman), Friday, 18 November 2005 19:07 (eighteen years ago) link

Chr1s spied every single member of every single band in Glasgow while he was waiting for this thread to load.

Mädchen (Madchen), Friday, 18 November 2005 20:17 (eighteen years ago) link

I just spied Camera Obscura on the telly whilst avoiding Jamie Cullum on Children in Need. This Music Show thing looks like the sort of thing I should maybe have been watching all along (I taped the first one, but still haven't watched it yet). Why aren't Dot to Dot on it?

Maybe they are, and I just haven't known because I'm not watching it.

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 18 November 2005 23:54 (eighteen years ago) link

ive quite liked everything on it so far except them. i thought they were awful.

jed_ (jed), Friday, 18 November 2005 23:58 (eighteen years ago) link

Embrace your inner tweeness, jed_. I liked those Music and Movement chappies that were on just now.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 19 November 2005 00:00 (eighteen years ago) link

lol ailsa. i liked Found (were they called?)

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 19 November 2005 00:03 (eighteen years ago) link

i fear I might be about to watch 170000000000 hours of the Lord of the Rings while avoiding Children in Leeds.

stet (stet), Saturday, 19 November 2005 00:06 (eighteen years ago) link

Haha, that last band had the dude from the Supernaturals in it! (they were good though, even though there was an inappropriate apostrophe in their caption).

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 19 November 2005 00:08 (eighteen years ago) link

b-b-but stet, you'll miss Peter Andre duetting with Jordan (so good they are repeating it RIGHT NOW!)

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 19 November 2005 00:43 (eighteen years ago) link

Peter Andre duetting with Jordan

I misread that as duelling and almost regretted going to the pub.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Saturday, 19 November 2005 10:07 (eighteen years ago) link

The first The Music Show was bad. I haven't seen any since. Dot to Dot are obviously not good enough. Arse to Face, however, are on next week and will kill.

Ally C (Ally C), Saturday, 19 November 2005 15:17 (eighteen years ago) link

Man currently fixing pipe and heating. Phewie!

Mädchen (Madchen), Saturday, 19 November 2005 18:31 (eighteen years ago) link

RJG says I look like Dame Edna.

Ally C (Ally C), Saturday, 19 November 2005 19:18 (eighteen years ago) link

dame edna isn't gay

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 19 November 2005 19:20 (eighteen years ago) link

He does look a bit like Dame Edna.

Alba (Alba), Saturday, 19 November 2005 19:30 (eighteen years ago) link

I cannot wait to see these black, white and brown spectacles.

Mädchen (Madchen), Saturday, 19 November 2005 20:00 (eighteen years ago) link

Oh, I haven't seen them. I just meant generally.

Ally C (Ally C), Saturday, 19 November 2005 20:57 (eighteen years ago) link

wonky but cute, was my verdict.

Cathy (Cathy), Saturday, 19 November 2005 21:05 (eighteen years ago) link

Oh, wonky.

Alba (Alba), Saturday, 19 November 2005 21:09 (eighteen years ago) link

In case Glasgow misses it, can i say woo and indeed hoo. Teh Hoops were like Cruyffs side of the 70's today. Sparkling. What can I say, Nakmura is easily the best player to grace this soil since..............since...ever. What a glorious day. Apologies to the other sides lot but we were fantastic today.

JohnFoxxsJuno (JohnFoxxsJuno), Sunday, 20 November 2005 00:51 (eighteen years ago) link

Can anyone recommend a reliable computer repair place in the west end? Mine broke and I don't know what to do.

hmmm (hmmm), Monday, 21 November 2005 20:53 (eighteen years ago) link

Nakamura is easily the best player to grace this soil since, ooh, Shaun Maloney. So we beat the worst Rangers team I think I've seen in my life. This doesn't make us great. Calm yourself down.

(you're only apologising to Ally C on this thread, I think, and he's probably used to it by now anyway).

I know bugger all about computers, and probably less about the West End, hmmm, sorry :)
