I fully expect violet to be in the top three because she has the tidiest season-long emotional arc and Ru loves to dramatize that shit. ("i'm mostly a bitch but i'm learning how to let people in."; see also: Bianca del Rio)

I agree I'm probably being manipulated but it's working! I've always been impressed by her looks though.

Such a weird challenge for so late in the season but oh well. Violet's look was great!

Dont dispute Kennedy & Katya being in the bottom, and Kennedy's lipsync was THE HOUSE DOWN BOOTS etc

V sad to see Katya go though. Fking love her so much, like Bianca levels of awesomeness. Wish she could have brought more of her amazing improv to the stage, judges needed to see more of that.

I do see how the gears are turning, tho. If they've been building to a Ginger win since basically episode 2, then they had to deep six the only one who could give her a run for her money in acting challenges.

(Tho, if I'm to be totally honest, I think everyone's quite literally sleeping on Pearl's comedic skills. I had to rewind her Madonna Hello Kitty monologue three times to get it all from laughing so hard.)

But really, starting to worry for Pearl. If they want a top 3 that hits on all points, there's only room for one drop dead gorgeous, thin, couture, runway-stomping glamour queen, and they've been giving Violet the redemption buildup something fierce the last few eps.

Kennedy's kinda surprised me this whole time. (In a good way!)

Apparently I'm always going to be a little bit biased against girls with default boring runway looks. She's likable and can clearly lip sync the house down, but ... meh.

(Her John Waters performance, I'll admit, was impressive.)

Anyone else hoping that that was Shangela under the HK costume?

What was it that Violet yelled out after the lip sync? I didn't like Kennedy's performance, btw -- way too much manic/desperate energy for that song.

Same, not just for this week but quite a few times this season. Her Snatch Game is criminally underrated.

If not for Katya's elimination, this could've been my favorite season.

Also was underwhelmed by Violet's runway, definitely preferred Pearl this week.

When did you know that drag was something you really could, and should, do?
I think it was the first time I did it as Katya. I was in art school, and I hosted my senior video show as the character. The makeup and the costume were absolutely terrible, but the character was fully formed and there. It got such a great reception. I was gonna try to go to grad school to teach foreign language. A philosophy teacher of mine was at the show, and she's like, 'No, you've gotta do this. This is really cool.' She's like this Yugoslavian, intelligentsia, freedom-fighting philosophy woman. And for her to say, 'You should do drag?' I think she would be so happy for me now. If not for that, I'd probably be dead, in jail or a French teacher in Sudbury, Mass.

I didn't expect it either since Ru kept her many times when she had done worse than last night, but I think her speech condoned her.

*ba dum tish* Only just caught up with the episode myself and yeah, surprised but not overwhelmed surprised, I guess. Still, another odd decision in a season full of them.

This show has a way of setting you up to root for an elimination and then, right before it comes, making you second guess it.

Shoulda known, tho, when they had a 4-way lip sync that they were contorting to engineer a way to allow for a Kennedy dismissal. Ain't no way she would have walked after a head-to-head lip sync.

Also, woo, finally a super shady, near old school ep of Untucked.

It is a little interesting that they've set it up that the only one going into the finale that didn't take the high road is the one everyone is assuming will win it all.

Ginger telling Violet the fans wouldn't want a bitch to win was the most ironic thing ever and shows she really has no idea how she comes across. I don't know how the fans will react if/when she wins.

Yeah, I don't know what the deal with the edit they've been giving Ginger lately. Bianca could be cutting and you would still never stop rooting for her. Ginger, otoh, I'm wavering.

I havent watched untucked yet but I was really uncomfortable with the way Ginger came for Violet in the ep. Like, do you really need to put her on blast to make yourself feel good?
