I don't do CDs. At least if I spend 50 dollars on a vinyl I know I can still probably listen to it when I'm 80.

The most notorious Anita [Baker] story I can remember was in the LA Times about 17 years ago. She admitted to spending 3 YEARS playing Nintendo(!!!) instead of recording her next album, landing her in huge hot water with her label. So yeah none of this seems like a hotbed of mental health.
