kinda sad that the champs are basically The Team That Didn't Get Injured This Year

― Clay, Friday, June 5, 2015 5:56 PM (5 minutes ago) Bookmark

feel like this playoffs would be thought of much differently had the clippers not choked

J0rdan S., Friday, 5 June 2015 22:02 (eight years ago) link

wldve been better def

lag∞n, Friday, 5 June 2015 22:03 (eight years ago) link

Some championship contender always kind of does choke tho

juice college (agent hibachi), Friday, 5 June 2015 22:04 (eight years ago) link

welp so much for a real series

it's weird rooting against lebron, i haven't been particularly invested in any teams from the last few finals but i've always pulled for him

brimstead, Friday, 5 June 2015 22:04 (eight years ago) link

But yeah western conf finals would have been much more competitive and entertaining

juice college (agent hibachi), Friday, 5 June 2015 22:05 (eight years ago) link

houston played good but blah houston

lag∞n, Friday, 5 June 2015 22:06 (eight years ago) link

this is a good time to point out that i bet the Warriors in a sweep at 8-1

― k3vin k., Friday, June 5, 2015 5:45 PM (5 minutes ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

i did too tbh, bet the four games to one too tho

― lag∞n, Friday, June 5, 2015 5:52 PM (9 minutes ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

i bet warriors straight up -235, warriors in 6 or less at even odds, and warriors in 4 at +800. I am happy rn

injuries and timing of injuries are always such a huge deal. they are heavily favored tho so its not like they are an undeserving champ. altho yeah i def think they got lucky in not having to play LAC or SAS.

Spottie, Friday, 5 June 2015 22:09 (eight years ago) link

oh yeah i'm not saying dubs are undeserving, they're obv a historically amazing team, but more that i'll prob always think of 2014-15 as the year everyone got injured and the dubs managed to escape that

Clay, Friday, 5 June 2015 22:11 (eight years ago) link

yeah the warriors did catch some lucky breaks with injuries, but thems the breaks. they probably would have won it all if everyone were healthy too

k3vin k., Friday, 5 June 2015 22:11 (eight years ago) link

imo these playoffs have been grebt.

Falconetti Pot (Leee), Friday, 5 June 2015 22:22 (eight years ago) link

naw

k3vin k., Friday, 5 June 2015 22:23 (eight years ago) link

Granted I've only been focusing on one series per round thus far.

Falconetti Pot (Leee), Friday, 5 June 2015 22:24 (eight years ago) link

haha

Spottie, Friday, 5 June 2015 22:27 (eight years ago) link

on the upside I guess seeing a 60 point game from bron out of necessity will be kind of cool, he can def still win one game by himself

slothroprhymes, Friday, 5 June 2015 22:38 (eight years ago) link

but yea leeching the last real chance for this being at all competitive super sucks

yeah this

Nhex, Friday, 5 June 2015 23:01 (eight years ago) link

they were also the best team tho

lag∞n, Friday, 5 June 2015 23:02 (eight years ago) link

xp that too, was hoping for at least a somewhat competitive series. and it was a very close game last night until OT

Nhex, Friday, 5 June 2015 23:02 (eight years ago) link

they were absolutely dominant all year and steph curry beat all the other first teamers, i don't mean to take anything away from them, just sux how many teams were hobbled either all season (thunder), or significantly once the playoffs came around (blazers), or decimated during the offs (hawks, wiz, grizz, cavs, basically everybody)

Clay, Friday, 5 June 2015 23:05 (eight years ago) link

tru

lag∞n, Friday, 5 June 2015 23:14 (eight years ago) link

fuck this, new season please

He looked scared bringing the ball up

Mr. Murphy in the wine bar. (Sufjan Grafton), Saturday, 6 June 2015 00:29 (eight years ago) link

he had approval to miss the bus to spend time with his family iirc

micah, Saturday, 6 June 2015 00:52 (eight years ago) link

maybe this is so obvious as to not need mentioning but i do feel it needs mentioning for ilh posterity: cavs played kyrie 44 mins in his first game back after a knee injury and he injured his knee

lag∞n, Saturday, 6 June 2015 13:35 (eight years ago) link

its not 100% bad luck

lag∞n, Saturday, 6 June 2015 13:36 (eight years ago) link

oh for sure, he fell awkwardly on a knee that was already messed up. it's not a given that he would have been as good in the next few games as he was coming off of like a week of rest.

call all destroyer, Saturday, 6 June 2015 13:54 (eight years ago) link

I've got the Warriors in a bet with a kid in my class. He wins, the class gets a free period to play around on their devices; I win, he has to go a full day without talking.

The rest of the class seems conflicted on whether they want the device time or a day where he doesn't talk.

it's the finals and he was playing well though, i don't have much of a problem with it

k3vin k., Saturday, 6 June 2015 14:34 (eight years ago) link

yeha obvs this is for all the marbles but they def took a risk

lag∞n, Saturday, 6 June 2015 14:57 (eight years ago) link

yeah k3vo otm. they needed to win that specific game very badly, and if kyrie is gonna play in the series then he needed to play.

J0rdan S., Saturday, 6 June 2015 15:24 (eight years ago) link

he can play w/o playing 44 mins, i mean was that their plan or were they just like fuck it at some point

lag∞n, Saturday, 6 June 2015 15:27 (eight years ago) link

maybe it was brons decision

lag∞n, Saturday, 6 June 2015 15:29 (eight years ago) link

they prob could have played more shump-jr-bron-thompson-mozgov lineups but i guess blatt wanted to play pretty small and... dellavedova is not good

J0rdan S., Saturday, 6 June 2015 15:39 (eight years ago) link

also like, what's the line where it's too many minutes? 40? 38? 35? idk. maybe he just shouldn't have been playing.

J0rdan S., Saturday, 6 June 2015 15:40 (eight years ago) link

the guy is getting like 45 million over 4 years. they pay him to play in these games if he can play

k3vin k., Saturday, 6 June 2015 15:44 (eight years ago) link

They gonna pay his next contract when he's washed up from injury at 27?

tsrobodo, Saturday, 6 June 2015 15:50 (eight years ago) link

if kyrie is washed up from injury at 27 it's not going to be because he played 5 minutes too many in the nba finals at age 23

Broken kneecap much better than ligament damage but the tendinitis is troubling

Spottie, Saturday, 6 June 2015 16:29 (eight years ago) link

tendinitis generally goes away with rest tho can be chronic, broken kneecap shd heal fine, kyrie played 44 mins an is now out of the finals

lag∞n, Saturday, 6 June 2015 16:31 (eight years ago) link

If only shump made that putback

Spottie, Saturday, 6 June 2015 16:33 (eight years ago) link

very close

Spottie, Saturday, 6 June 2015 16:35 (eight years ago) link
