lebro and curry combined 16/57

Spottie, Monday, 8 June 2015 03:55 (eight years ago) link

@johnschuhmann: Curry's 26.1% was his worst eFG%...
In 36 career playoff games.
In 97 games this season.
In the 247 games in which he's taken > 15 FGA.

i meant easy fave preseason. west faves will be split between spurs-dubs-thunder-clippers (i'd guess that order too) but cavs would be heavy faves to win the east. above might've been true regardless of past two games but i can't be the only one thinking this team is missing their second and third best players (w/ a drop off to four) and they're one shot from having gone up 2-0 on the road on a historically great regular season team.

balls, Monday, 8 June 2015 05:17 (eight years ago) link

Iverson's Sixers pushed the Lakers early in the series too (and could have made the series really interesting if Tyrone Hill wasn't an idiot).

But no, the Cavs will only be preseason title faves if the public pours a lot of dumb money in.

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 8 June 2015 05:55 (eight years ago) link

Kind of amazing to think that the West-East imbalance started way back then and we've never really gotten out of it.

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 8 June 2015 05:56 (eight years ago) link

knicks have been a complete disaster almost that entire time. what's crazy to me is when the pistons won i remember thinking 'finally' and hoping some balance was coming back and arguably it's more lopsided now, and it could get worse- this bulls era easily could've already peaked, lebron's only getting older, durant could stay in okc, brow's only gonna get better.

balls, Monday, 8 June 2015 06:06 (eight years ago) link

some east teams are bound to get better - pacers, celtics, maaaybe the bucks. but barring massive good fortune no way any of them get championship-level better, and compared to how the pelis and OKC will (probably) get better the difference is lol

slothroprhymes, Monday, 8 June 2015 10:57 (eight years ago) link

This game is awesome fuiud

I spent the entire night frantically texting with my dad, an Ohio native who insisted on watching the whole game even though he's recovering from ehrlichiosis & I did everything in my power to convince him to just go to sleep.

3Q was riveting, JR Smith was maddening, & any Dubs fan who complains about the officiating deserves the gulag.

Harlabob says the Cavs really got lucky by having JR foul out, dude was just not sharp last night

Anyone know what the hell is going on with Bron's shooting? He's turned into kind of a chucker (especially with no second option) but I remember him making these shots normally...

frogbs, Monday, 8 June 2015 12:51 (eight years ago) link

he tired

I'm already looking forward to turning off game 3 in disgust en route to a 106-73 GSW victory... maybe I can talk my boss into letting me work tuesday night

pistons, too. trust svg!

that was a fucking amazing game

Joan Crawford Loves Chachi, Monday, 8 June 2015 14:17 (eight years ago) link

xp true the pistons will get better i just dunno if it'll be immediately next season. then again with some luck they could prob muscle out the bucks who were legitimately good in many ways but also kinda overacheived.

slothroprhymes, Monday, 8 June 2015 14:23 (eight years ago) link

Orlando should improve even in spite of Skiles.

“I thought I was being friendly. She was rooting for LeBron the whole game so finally I was getting irritated and I said, ‘I’m the owner of the Warriors.’ She didn’t care, she just kept going

bron sat for THREE MINUTES lol

rip van wanko, Monday, 8 June 2015 15:20 (eight years ago) link

the gotta hear both sides version:

-not really surprised rihanna acted at the v least like a troll, at worst a low key asshole
-that said lacob can't really expect to tell her what to do - in general, but especially not if she was just loudly rooting from bron and not like, idk, loudly cursing while his kids are right there or w/e

slothroprhymes, Monday, 8 June 2015 15:24 (eight years ago) link

man grant hill was hanging w/ the wiz owner (who wore a bullets jacket: respect), you can't get salty cuz somebody didn't root for the home team

i can't remember the last important playoff series where i felt like each coach was totally absent from the proceedings.

from blatt it's understandable if not expected especially considering how shorthanded they are but i feel like golden state has been essentially coachless this series which is not good!!

J0rdan S., Monday, 8 June 2015 15:58 (eight years ago) link

last night steph didn't move without the ball practically at all unless he was coming to get a dribble hand off on a screen (like the tying finger roll) -- it was kind of concerning how often he was just standing off on the wing motionless and like looking away from the play? i dunno.

the warriors have been entirely rhythmless this entire series against a team that is a decent defensive team at best, i don't quite understand it

J0rdan S., Monday, 8 June 2015 16:01 (eight years ago) link

yeah they need to make some adjustments, there's no reason their offense should be so choppy

call all destroyer, Monday, 8 June 2015 16:17 (eight years ago) link

Kerr's huddle talk always seems comically generic to me

rip van wanko, Monday, 8 June 2015 16:20 (eight years ago) link

all coaches huddles do imo

Spottie, Monday, 8 June 2015 16:38 (eight years ago) link

kerr getting outcoached otm. he made the right adjustments vs the grizz we'll see what he can do with this one. Need more livingston w curry/klay imo. i thought he shoulda gone w livingston over barbosa when klay got those 2 quick fouls

Spottie, Monday, 8 June 2015 16:40 (eight years ago) link

why they're letting lebron finish nearly 50% of possessions is something i still don't understand

J0rdan S., Monday, 8 June 2015 16:55 (eight years ago) link

they being the warriors

J0rdan S., Monday, 8 June 2015 16:56 (eight years ago) link

i'm strong pro-warriors in this series but i'm happy the cavs won that game simply because lebron really would've been pillaged in the media when the refs just cut him absolutely zero slack to an absolutely absurd degree at the end of regulation last night

J0rdan S., Monday, 8 June 2015 16:57 (eight years ago) link

the iggy no-call hack on the baseline on bron reminded me of game 2 of the 2012 finals when durant missed that baseline bunny at the end of the game in the same spot w/ a lebron nudge to the side that could've been called

J0rdan S., Monday, 8 June 2015 16:58 (eight years ago) link

i would agree had he not switched his pivot feet three time prior to it.

Anybody else hear the Ether Grant Hill dropped on Kenny Smith when he brought up Hakeem after Kenny had been gushing how he'd never seen a superstar do more with less?

tsrobodo, Monday, 8 June 2015 17:44 (eight years ago) link

haha yea that was an A+ zing

Spottie, Monday, 8 June 2015 17:46 (eight years ago) link

Cold as hell, that's the kind of shit that kills friendships. Didn't Payton get frozen out of TNT for that time he clowned Kenny with a stat sheet?

Man GP and C Webb were everything, they need to find a way to put those two back together

Short term improvement is his thing (and maybe what's called for down there)

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 8 June 2015 18:38 (eight years ago) link

In general I'm pro-warriors but the glowing dumb articles about the brilliance of Joe Lacob and positionless basketball make me want Mozgov and JR Smith will the cavs to victory a little.
