was wins banned for 'flooding the board'? I don't see the problem with making 50 posts in rapid succession so long as they're contained to a single self-indulgent content farming thread. it's not like he posted his questions to a bunch of random threads.

I wonder what the threshold is. 50 posts in under 10 minutes is pretty extreme even for wins, but I feel like I've probably come close to the tipping point at times, and I wouldn't want to end up getting tempbanned for a particularly fruitful series of ox gallstone posts. c&p'ing dumbshit from around the web is a noble tradition without which ilx would be a wasteland of original thoughts, so maybe the mods should loosen the parameters a little or make exceptions for certain exemplary posters.

Thx mods! In my innocence it never occurred to me that there would be such a mechanism but of course I can see the reasoning behind it. Funnily enough I posted all those questions in quick succession against my better instinct, which was obv to confine them all to one post. Lesson learned, won't happen again!
