still haven't figured out how to avoid getting whacked with massively OP opponents. figure this is a noob thing that will sort itself as i level up?

resulting post (rogermexico.), Saturday, 29 August 2015 03:43 (eight years ago) link

not really; you gotta skip those fights, or tank (start the fight with crappy chars you won't use anyway, quit and lose immediately). you'll lose points, so try to tank high point value fights - you'll lose less. in any case your match ups get less powerful when you lose

Nhex, Saturday, 29 August 2015 04:23 (eight years ago) link

thank u based commander

np!

btw i love that Carnage/Sentry/Daken team-up mission they give you in the root Prodigal Sun set; fun to just destroy everyone with their suicidal powers since you don't have to care about team health

Nhex, Saturday, 29 August 2015 05:44 (eight years ago) link

^^ this. i'm super impressed too by the way the game designers interpret those characters. like carnage's insane special tile create/smash cycle is hysterical fun and all of sentry's powers are so depressing you don't even want to use them.

resulting post (rogermexico.), Saturday, 29 August 2015 06:36 (eight years ago) link

I'll use Sentry's yellow power because who cares if he dies?

:wq (Leee), Saturday, 29 August 2015 17:10 (eight years ago) link

FYI: I've got a 0/5 Modern Black Widow for anyone requesting team-ups!

:wq (Leee), Sunday, 30 August 2015 16:00 (eight years ago) link

10 pack covers
Elektra black x2, her best power
Spider-Man blue, now 3/5/5
Sentry yellow, already maxed
6 junk

:wq (Leee), Monday, 31 August 2015 19:25 (eight years ago) link

Two Elektras, dammnnnnnnn

Nhex, Monday, 31 August 2015 19:36 (eight years ago) link

yeah buffed Mohawk Storm is scary

Nhex, Monday, 31 August 2015 19:37 (eight years ago) link

10 pack: usable Starlord, two useless 3 stars, rest 2s

droit au butt (Euler), Monday, 31 August 2015 19:50 (eight years ago) link

I've been too busy to play much beyond keeping up with the daily Deadpool, so I just started the Gray Widow tourney tonight - picked the latest stopping point and I guess it was pretty much empty because I was in 50th without even playing and after ten or eleven games I'm holding tight in the top 10.

Kiarostami bag (milo z), Tuesday, 1 September 2015 03:00 (eight years ago) link

10 pack results: Black X-Force Wolvie (yes! brings me to 5/5/2) , 1 Blue Falcon (can't use), 1 Red Punisher (can't use), rest 2*s

Nhex, Wednesday, 2 September 2015 06:49 (eight years ago) link

Surprised it took this long for them to a)get Reed Richards into the game and b)create a card has abilities dependent/reactive to team members, in this case having other FF cards

Nhex, Thursday, 3 September 2015 02:44 (eight years ago) link

5* Silver Surfer announced. 5* Wolverine also rumored.

aaaaablnnn (abanana), Friday, 4 September 2015 03:09 (eight years ago) link

5*? omg those motherfuckers

Nhex, Friday, 4 September 2015 03:36 (eight years ago) link

It will never end. If Silver Surfer is 5 stars, how many is Galactus?

Vernon Locke, Friday, 4 September 2015 04:27 (eight years ago) link

I'd always hoped that the first 5* would be Flat Man or Paste Pot Petel

:wq (Leee), Friday, 4 September 2015 05:11 (eight years ago) link

fuck it, eight star stilt man

Meta Forksclove-Liebeskind (forksclovetofu), Friday, 4 September 2015 15:33 (eight years ago) link

Is that Stilt-Man (Classic) or Stilt-Man (Turk)?

:wq (Leee), Friday, 4 September 2015 15:39 (eight years ago) link

Stilt-Man (Ultimates)

Meta Forksclove-Liebeskind (forksclovetofu), Friday, 4 September 2015 15:49 (eight years ago) link

I'm kinda bummed about 5 stars tbh, makes my growing army of 3 stars seem puny. but I ain't spending any more money on this game, just that $20 I paid a while back for HP on some sale. it's just that it's hard enough to get 4 star covers, and there are so many of them that getting them playable takes forever. I did get a second hulkbuster this week on a LR token at least.

I also hate myself for playing this when I think how they've added barely any new story/pve content since that first autumn. like, the hunt? again? against yes more daken moonstone rags venom. it's so dumb to fight those again again again when there's now tons of new covers. I grinded a couple of pves lately b/c I wanted the progression 3 star & I was thinking of trying for top 150 to get the quicksilver since I don't have any of his covers yet but I cannot be fucked to grind this boring ass group of enemies for the millionth time.

been working on my squirrel girl again, took KK to 153 5-3-4, squirrel girl at 5-5-3 151 now, gonna 166 her but I'd prefer a different spec I think.

droit au butt (Euler), Friday, 4 September 2015 16:15 (eight years ago) link

Totally feel you -- it's the inflation that DDQ has caused. When they're giving out a 3* cover every day, it cheapens the tier, so now they're focusing on making the 4* level the new default heavy-hitters and creating a new ceiling with the 5*.

But as for lack of new content, this seems potentially fun/agonizing:

• Last, but not least! We’re adding a new mission type to Deadpool’s Daily Quest. Every 5 days, there will be a very challenging face-off mission between one particular 4-Star and one opponent. Beat that mission and you’ll get a Legendary pack. (The first mission of this type will appear on 9/15.)

:wq (Leee), Friday, 4 September 2015 16:40 (eight years ago) link

wow that sounds fun! I guess I will have to read more but that does that mean you have to use a 4 star to win that battle?

droit au butt (Euler), Friday, 4 September 2015 16:44 (eight years ago) link

That's my guess, and it sounds like a one-on-one match. And given the way DDQ is set up now, if you don't have that 4*, you're locked out (and that'll be the case for me most of the time).

:wq (Leee), Friday, 4 September 2015 16:51 (eight years ago) link

Finally got marginally useful His, i.e. 5/5/1, whom does he pair well with?

:wq (Leee), Saturday, 5 September 2015 06:50 (eight years ago) link

Hood, rather.

:wq (Leee), Saturday, 5 September 2015 06:51 (eight years ago) link

Feels kind of toned down now (like many of the older 3*s), but he's good with AP stealers (Loki, Mystique)

Nhex, Saturday, 5 September 2015 08:15 (eight years ago) link

And... Hulk? Maybe?

Nhex, Saturday, 5 September 2015 08:15 (eight years ago) link

Cap + Hood is great.

aaaaablnnn (abanana), Saturday, 5 September 2015 16:15 (eight years ago) link

10 pack:
Cyclops yellow
Falcon blue and purple, both useless

Other pulls:
Cyclops black, can 166 him once I get another 10k ISO.
Kamala purple, useless

:wq (Leee), Monday, 7 September 2015 03:35 (eight years ago) link

Cyclops is badass

Got a 2nd Hulkbuster off a LR token

Guess I'm gonna start leveling my 4 stars once I 166 Squirrel Girl (so probably Wednesday, 160 right now before DPD today)

droit au butt (Euler), Monday, 7 September 2015 10:39 (eight years ago) link

hmm not sure if bouncy reed is an improvement over fat ben

resulting post (rogermexico.), Wednesday, 9 September 2015 04:44 (eight years ago) link

it is decidedly not

Nhex, Wednesday, 9 September 2015 07:01 (eight years ago) link

Don't bother with the final Gauntlet if you don't have Mr. Fantastic -- he's required. I got past the ridiculous level 395 4*DP/Iron Fist/Luke Cage node with Patch and Loki, only to discover that I get nothing for it.

40 packs of heroic tokens now come with one legendary token, which gives a 5% chance of giving the 5* Silver Surfer. There is already a player with three 5* SS covers.

aaaaablnnn (abanana), Thursday, 10 September 2015 01:52 (eight years ago) link

I'm just aiming for the red LCap in the Gauntlet, then I'm forgetting about this game for a while (i.e. until the new season starts next week).

:wq (Leee), Thursday, 10 September 2015 03:04 (eight years ago) link

ugh I played a lot of gauntlet a couple days ago, opened the third gauntlet but didn't start it, b/c I sorta wanted the yellow thoress (mine's 4/3/3, 5/3/5 better but 270's the first aim). guess I won't bother! which is good b/c I don't have time anyway.

droit au butt (Euler), Thursday, 10 September 2015 05:27 (eight years ago) link

balls. gonna come up short of the 10 pack this season. oh well got grey widow okay for a noob I guess.

resulting post (rogermexico.), Thursday, 10 September 2015 05:31 (eight years ago) link

Lvl 395? oh the hell with that

Nhex, Thursday, 10 September 2015 05:46 (eight years ago) link

Lvl 395 Iron Fist's attack tile does 1138 damage.

aaaaablnnn (abanana), Thursday, 10 September 2015 06:05 (eight years ago) link

roger, yeah, not bad. 10-pack really just a reward for consistent playing, I think you just need to do ~170 points a day in PVP. Don't know how it is for a new player, though.

Got my LCap, he's 4/5/3 now -- halfway usable in PVEs now! From the sound of it, I don't want to even bother with the third Gauntlet PVE. How hard is it to get the Scarlet Witch cover?

:wq (Leee), Thursday, 10 September 2015 16:59 (eight years ago) link

yeah I'm thinking about going for the Scarlet Witch cover, I have a bit more time the next couple of days.

Quicksilver is really annoying to play/play against. not as bad as Daken was initially, but bad.

droit au butt (Euler), Thursday, 10 September 2015 17:03 (eight years ago) link

the pseudo-Russian Roulette nature of QvQ battles reminds me of the endless Raging Tempest loops you used to get with CStorm vs CStorm, which does make me smile

I Am Curious (Dolezal) (DJP), Thursday, 10 September 2015 17:12 (eight years ago) link

xposts Leee yeah my challenge is that once I hit 1250ish in the sim i get beat down furiously. still leveling those core 2* and i'll get it next season for sure.

resulting post (rogermexico.), Thursday, 10 September 2015 18:01 (eight years ago) link

and yeah what i have learned this week is: toss Quicksilver covers asap

resulting post (rogermexico.), Thursday, 10 September 2015 18:02 (eight years ago) link

Oh I rarely bother with the Simulator nowadays, maybe to get that HP reward at 250 points. Nah, I just do the PVP events, this last time I was able to reach 400 for I think all of them, so I made the 10-pack tier with days to spare.

:wq (Leee), Thursday, 10 September 2015 18:07 (eight years ago) link

For the Simulator, it's just the reason you mention: once you reach a certain points plateau, you become a high-value target for other people to pound on, and your point total inevitably gets dragged down.

:wq (Leee), Thursday, 10 September 2015 18:11 (eight years ago) link
